What's Up in the Tech World
Welcome Back!
Hi everyone, I am a little late with the newsletter today. I hope each of you had a refreshing fall break. For each of us, that means something different. Some of you travelled and some stayed home. Some of us returned to school more tired than we left :)
I will be at Lower Campus until lunch on Tuesday and all day Wednesday. I will be at Upper the other days. Please let me know how I can help you.
National Geographics Mapmaker Interactive
This interactive does not require students to have an account. This interactive website allows the student to measure distances, add placemarks, layer information, and switch between base map layers. All maps created in Mapmaker Interactive can be printed. They can also be shared online
Deep Learning With Google Tools
This post has some great ideas and thoughts. Well worth the time to glance over it.
Lower Campus - maybe even older :)
Okay, if you haven't watched any of the Crash Course Kids videos, you really need to check them out. They are great quick videos about all kinds of different topics. They are probably best suited for Lower Campus but I have to admit, I really enjoyed watching a few.

ISTE Student Standards
I encourage everyone to look over the ISTE Student Standards. These are the International Standards set out by the International Society for Technology in Education. These standards should be addressed in every classroom. don't need to address them all but you should consider how you can address some of them as you teach your content area. These standards are integrated into your regular content.
