JBE MAP TESTING BEGINS THIS WEEK
Each student will have a testing rubric for each day and will have a chance to earn 10 minutes of kickball that day for each session (up to 30 minutes) based on their behavior, attitude, and effort. Thank you to PTO for sponsoring a Kona Ice reward at the end of May for 3rd-5th grade students that receive all of their points or only miss one on the rubric throughout the duration of testing.
Our teachers are working hard today to decorate the hallways and surprise the students with a Superhero theme. We know our students are testing Superheroes!

Teacher Appreciation Week is next week - May 3rd-6th
The staff will be celebrated by a couple of organizations and businesses throughout the week, but I would like to see if we could collect enough donations to buy the staff lunch on Wednesday, May 4th from Frumpy Joe's. Frumpy's has been very generous to JBE this year with their Dine and Donate program on the first Wednesday of the month. It just so happens that Teacher Appreciation Week falls on the first Wednesday. I think this would be a great way to participate in their program that supports JBE and treat our faculty & staff.
Would you be willing to send in a few dollars to help buy lunch for our staff? I'm thinking we could use the theme, "May the Fourth Be With You: Yoda Best Staff in the Universe"
IF you can help spoil our staff with an order out lunch, please send your donation in an envelope labeled "Frumpy's Lunch Donation" and your name.
Thank you for your continued support of our students and staff!

There will be no tickets for this event and doors will open at 8:05 for Kindergarten and then after each grade level is complete. You will be allowed to take a quick photo after your student's awards, but we will need to clear the gym quickly for the next celebration. Please be patient and respectful as we try this new format--we will do our best to start on time.

PTO Update
We are very fortunate to have an active and supportive PTO at Jonesburg Elementary. This group does a lot of work behind the scenes to provide awesome opportunities for our students. PTO helps support many of the activities that happen at Jonesburg Elementary. PTO also helps buy extra materials for classrooms to support learning and growth. PTO event dates are located in the Upcoming Dates section below. You can support PTO in a variety of ways including attending meetings and events, buying items from the fundraisers, and volunteering your time to help at events.
If you have questions about how to help the JBE PTO or are interested in getting involved, please let your student's teacher know or contact any of our PTO Officers. Stephanie Thomas, Cherysse Tucker, Rachel Hans, and Liana Wilson.
Upcoming Events:
- Shakespeare's Pizza Sales
- PTO Meeting and Officer Elections - April 29th 5:00
- Read the PTO Newsletter to find out more on how you can help!
Frumpy Joe's Supports JBE
Frumpy Joe's has donated over $700 since they began this program! We appreciate their support!

Please know that if you plan to attend the field trip, you will need to fill out our volunteer application and pass the school-approved background check. This process does not happen quickly so if you are interested in attending the field trip, please contact your student's teacher or the JBE office for more information.

Breakfast and Lunch Menu
You can find the most up to date breakfast and lunch menus on the district website on the left side by clicking on the green box that says school menus. Make sure you choose Jonesburg Elementary! You can also click on this link to see the menus.
Attendance Letters & School Communication
I know that there is a certain amount of anxiety involved with receiving attendance letters from the school. Please know that we are mandated to mail attendance letters after your students 3rd, 5th and 8th absence. This DOES NOT mean that we are going to call the truancy officer. On the back of the letter you will see the dates of your students absence and the detail that we noted when you called in. As always, we will be in touch if we have specific concerns. Please continue to communicate with our office about your students attendance.
