Holidays Around the World
All week, we have traveled the world. We learned that many people celebrate different holidays all over the world. We learned a little bit about how these holidays are similar and different than the holidays we celebrate with our families. We started the week by making a passport and packing our suitcase. We created a boarding pass before getting on our plane and traveling to the location. Upon arrival to the location, we received a stamp for our passport and colored in the location on our map. While in that country we learned about some of the special traditions of these different cultures. Before returning to Goodrich we created a souvenir from each place. We visited the Netherlands, Isreal, China, Mexico, and Germany. All of the items we made are coming home today in our suitcases!
The Gingerbread Hunt
On Monday, we were greeted by a special friend. The Gingerbread Man came to rest in our classroom. Throughout the week, we spent time with him, but on Thursday he disappeared. We created missing posters in hopes that someone in the building would find him and return him to us. Sadly, he was still gone on Friday morning, but we found a clue in a note that he left us. These clues lead us on a hunt through the building, but we kept just missing him. Eventually, we found him back in our classroom.
Wish List
The kindergarten teachers are asking Santa and his elves for some extra supplies. We have used up many of our glue sticks and dry erase markers! If possible, please send some our way in January. Thank you!
