Dropping off students in the morning

With the Winter months coming, we wanted to send a little reminder of the following.....

  1. Drop off at 8:30 am. Please DO NOT drop off students until 8:30 am. Our campus does not open until 8:30 and the students will be sitting or standing outside in the cold, rain, snow and ice.
  2. Dress Appropriately. With Winter upon us, please make sure you send your student to school with appropriate shoes, jackets, umbrellas and such. They are outside in sprinkles and snow.

When will we have indoor recess times:

  • Below 20 degrees - the district looks at the 20 degree mark to bring students inside for recess, and yes we do account for wind chill temperatures.
  • Poring Rain - If it is a light sprinkle, the students will be outside. Dress appropriately.
  • Ice - If there is ice buildup on the whole back playground, we will usually have indoor recess due to safety standards.

Lost and Found

For your convenience, if your child lost an article of clothing or lunch box, we have our Lost and Found hung up outside at the north entrance to the playground.

You may come over in the evening or on the weekend and hopefully find it there.

The students walk by that location every morning when coming to school and while going to lunch so they see it every day.

At the end of each Quarter, we will donate what lost and found items we have left over at that time so please make sure you check for your lost items.

Box Tops for School

Just a reminder for those of you not familiar with the box tops program. It’s all digital these days. So download the Box Tops for Education app to your phone and register under Jefferson Elementary in Boise Idaho.

Then all you have to do is scan your receipts from the grocery store and it automatically finds items that have box tops and adds it to our account. It’s very user friendly.

If you do have any of the old ones that you clip out please send them in to your students teacher. Some of them are not expired yet.
