CHALLENGE BY CHOICE PROGRAM
Challenge by Choice is a program benefiting the 7th grade students in HEB Independent School District. The program encourages students to take as many challenging courses they can during their high school years, so they will be better prepared for higher education or to join the workforce. It’s a fun and rewarding program that can make a lasting impact on young people. Pictured below we had former HEB ISD School Board President Dr. Faye Beaulieu speak with our students this afternoon.

FRESHMAN GIRLS SOCCER
This past weekend, our Freshman's girls’ soccer team closed out their tournament with a strong win vs. Boswell's JV 2 team. Ella Trevino opened the scoring with a perfectly placed lofted shot. Forward Najiba Tasnim's hustle created an opportunity that Elena Garcia hammered home to put the team up 2-0. And Bedford' s central defensive mid, Alani Rojas, nabbed the final goal for the 3-0 victory. The freshman girls have an away game at Chisholm High School this week.
The Freshman girls’ soccer team defeated Chisholm Trail High School with a solid team effort. Ella Trevino scored the first goal with an assist from Amira Yassin. Ella Trevino created the second goal with a lobbed shot that Alani Rojas perfectly placed to Aliya Kershaw, who scored and secured the victory. Final Score: Bedford 2, Chisholm Trail 0.
8TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL
Saturday the girls had to face the Central Spartans again in the Championship game, but it was no competition. The girls’ full court pressure gave us a 26-4 lead after the first quarter. The girls kept the Spartans under 10 points each quarter winning the tournament 62-21. MuRae had her season high with 36 points! The girl could not be stopped. Madeline Dean and Mia Easter Clark had 6, followed by Brooklyn Williams, Jazz Williams, and Tia Iafeta with 4. Proud of the girls defending the home court!
Both A and B teams will travel to bring back home two wins against Harwood this Thursday!
Our 8th grade Lady Broncos traveled across town to compete again with rival Harwood Junior High Thursday night and came home with two wins!
The B team played a tough & battled till the very end. They worked together to score against a zone defense! Addy McCollum and Mia Williams had some sweet & critical shots that kept us in the game. Key rebounds by Shalom Harkins, Danika Lambert, and Kaylee Hartman kept us alive in overtime. Our full-court pressure in overtime kept us alive & Haley Bedlington had the last four points to win us the game! Way to seal the deal, Lady Broncos!
Our A team had a slow start against Harwood's zone defense, but our defensive pressure kept them from scoring more than 2 points in the first quarter. After some team ball & full-court pressure by MuRae Horn, Jazz Williams, and Brooklyn Williams, the gap got bigger and bigger. Birthday girl, Kenslee Turner, had 3 threes last night. Haley Blocker-Smith and Mia Easter Clark had some big-time rebounds and steals. Regan Ingram was the back-side rebound stud & Tia Iafeta and Madeline Dean kept the offense running. Way to defeat Harwood, ladies!
The girls have their last home game next week against Grapevine Middle School! The girls look to continue their winning streak!
7TH GRADE GIRLS BASKETBALL

The 7th grade girls Team 1 battled against Harwood Monday night winning 31-16. The girls battled through some adversity but continued to play hard. Sariyah Crater led all scores with 16 points. Reagan Bennett had 6, Kylnee Horn had 5, London Morgan, Charlotte Martinez, and Genesis Morales all had 2 points each. Defensive pressure by Jillian Smith, Kynlee Horn, Reagan Ingram and Alexis Tabor created several steals helping us get easy baskets. So proud of this group!
Monday night the Lady Broncos 7th Grade basketball Team 2 lost a hard fought game to Harwood 20-22. Leading scorers were Maddy Martinak with 7 points, Tina Betancourt with 6 points, Aliya Johnson with 5 points and Cora Berry with 2 points. Coach Shack would like to thank the team for the great effort the team played with.
8TH GRADE BOYS BASKETBALL
Saturday morning proved that your Broncos were ready to finish what they started defeating Meadow Brook Middle and playing cross-town rival Hurst for the Consolation Championship.
The Broncos fired on all cylinders against the red raiders and displayed great team basketball take how the Championship! Congrats to all the basketball teams who participated in their tournament. All the coaches are proud of you all.
The 8th Grade A Team also took on an aggressive and determined Harwood team also Thursday night in a heartbreaking loss for the Broncos. Bedford fought back from a 10 point deficit coming out of the half to tie it up by the end of the 3rd quarter. Unfortunately Harwood's long range shooting allowed them to pull away and we could not match them shot for shot. The final score was 52-49 Harwood. Top offensive players were Andrew Mull with 12 points, Braylon Harris with 13 points, Gavin Roberson had 14 points. There was also great defensive play by Braylin Harris, Tyler Cramer, and Big Gavin Roberson.
