Saying goodbye to WCHE in 2019

Dear WCHE parents and friends,

For these past few years I have been blessed to serve this amazing community and these incredible young people. That is what makes leaving so hard. While I am thrilled to open Bee Cave Middle School this upcoming school year, West Cypress Hills will always remain close to my heart, as will all of you.

I deeply appreciate all of the kind words of encouragement I've received over these past two days and look forward to making every last moment on my campus count! While I will be here for the next two weeks, I will be meeting with our PTO Board and Campus Leadership Teams to discuss the next steps in the transition process. We will be sending out more information as the week progresses so everyone remains informed.

I hope you will join me in welcoming our new Interim Principal, Mr. Lester Wolff, who will be joining me next week to begin familiarizing himself with our wonderful students and staff. He is thrilled to become part of all of the incredible learning planned for 2019! Stay tuned for more information on our new leader, Mr. Wolff.

In the meantime, it's business as usual around here for our Tigers as we dive back into another outstanding year of learning. It was so refreshing to see all of your children settle back into their routines and hear them share their exciting adventures of the holiday season today. Being a part of your children's lives has been a privilege and I look forward to hearing all about their ongoing accomplishments. Thank you for the opportunity to serve you and your families- it has truly been a great honor, Tigers.

Happy New Year WCHE! It's a wonderful day to learn together and lead together in 2019!

Warmest Regards,

Amanda

Honoring Mr. Guy Clayton and the LTISD Board of Trustees

Although our Lake Travis Independent School District Board of Trustees works diligently throughout the year to ensure that we have all of the tools that we need in order to learn together and lead together, the month of January has been set aside to recognize their efforts on our behalf. We, therefore, want to take this opportunity to thank the Board of Trustees.

We would also like to highlight one of the members of the Board of Trustees, Mr. Guy Clayton. Mr. Clayton is a graduate of Lake Travis High School and Texas Tech University, where he majored in Finance and Real Estate. His professional experience is in the field of mortgage banking and financial management. Mr. Clayton was first elected to the Board of Trustees in 2009.

Thank you, Mr. Clayton, and all of the members of the Board of Trustees of the Lake Travis Independent School District. We appreciate you and all that you do to make the Lake Travis Independent School District THE best place to be.

The Wall of Fame for Shoe Tying for Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Graders

If your Kinder, 1st Grader, and/or Second Grader can tie his/her shoes, please notify Coaches Mirizzi & Mayes because they want to honor this accomplishment in the school gym on our WALL OF FAME FOR SHOE TYING!

Once notified of the student's successful shoe-tying accomplishment, we will provide your student with a paper shoe to color, take the student's photo, and then post the photo and customized paper shoe on our WALL OF FAME FOR SHOE TYING!

It's going to be really exciting to see our young Tigers on the WALL OF FAME!

Our clinic needs new or gently used leggings, shorts, and pants

Accidents happen! And, sometimes students need warm, dry clothing to finish out their school day.

Nurse Hensel, as the keeper of the wardrobe, has reported a need for small, medium and large girls' leggings. She also needs, for boys and/or girls, small, medium, and large athletic shorts and pants.

We would appreciate your keeping Nurse Hensel's needs in mind if you have gently used clothing that your children no longer need. Many thanks!
