Are You Smater Than a 5th Grader?
This is your chance to find out at our family-friendly event. Mark your calendars for Friday, April 14th for our first C.F. Holliday Trivia Night! Bring snacks, drinks and order pizza from us. There will also be silent auction items you can bid on. More details to follow.
GaGa Ball is Coming!
A new version of a fast paced game will be installed on our play ground soon. Mr. Manning, Mrs. Winfield, and Mrs. Hopf's students are raising funds to buy the lumber to build the court. Want to help? We are selling popcorn on Wednesdays during lunch. We will also need volunteers to help a assemble the court. Let us know if you can help.
CFH Now Stands for "Children Farming Here"
Students from all five grades will be beginning a gardening project. The conclusion will happen next school year when they will harvest their vegetables. Many hands will be needed to help build the beds and move the soil. The gardens will be made by using pallets that were donated to the school. Look for more information as we near spring.
Valentine's Day/Pink Day Fun
First Graders in Mrs. Robinson's class made candy heart towers. Mrs. Austin's students had fun passing out valentines to their classmates. Mrs. Laughter's students were ready for Pink Day. Noah, in Mrs. Longworth's homeroom, had a special Pink Day shirt!
Science Night was a Success!
Thank you to all the families that came out for our annual Science Family Night. It was a beautiful evening filled with experiments, food, fun and an amazing performance by our fifth graders on force and motion. A big thank you to everyone who helped make this night possible.
Fifth Grade worked with Muse Machine to show Force and Motion through dance and performed it for the school!
Holliday Happenings
First Grade Mathematicians
First Grade students in Mrs. Robinson's math class focused on non-standard measurement this week. They used straws and cubes to measure and compare different items. Cool!
President's Day Fun
Third Grade students in Mrs. Warner's class made presidential puppets while learning about Abraham Lincoln and George Washington. They even included interesting facts about the presidents on the back of the puppets. How fun!
