Architect- Thomas Jefferson designed and started to build his house at the age of 26.


Inventor- Thomas Jefferson invented the iron and mould board plow that dug deeper than 3 inches. This plow helped farmers reduce erosion as they farmed on the Virginia hillside.


Gardener- Thomas Jefferson made notes on everything. He wrote about the rainfall and daily weather. He wrote about his trees, slaves and crops. He even kept a gardening diary. These records tell us valuable information about life at Monticello.
