Good Character Week
There is also a home challenge for each day of the week that will allow families to discuss what we have learned and add an extra bit of happiness at home. Look for information about those challenges.

Socktober Update
With one week left in our SOCK-TOBER campaign, we have collected 625 pairs of socks! That is amazing! Keep sending them in! We collect until the 31st!
On Nov 1st-Nov 8th we begin our unwanted Halloween candy collection. We will take your unwanted candy (as long as it is individually wrapped) and donate it along with our socks. The shelter uses the candy to stuff holiday stockings for those children in the shelter during the holidays. Last year we collected over 500 lbs of candy!

Reflections Entries Due to Oct. 31st
PTA is proud to launch our Reflections Program at Blanton for the 2019-2020 school year! With positive recognition as the focus of this program, rather than competition, students of all ages and abilities can experience the benefits of creative expression and help in finding their own voice in telling their unique story.
This year, the theme will be “Look Within”, and all entries must be created specifically to support this theme. Students can enter any or all of the six art categories. Students may also submit multiple entries within a single arts category.
*To be eligible, one person from the student’s household must be a current member of the Blanton PTA. For a full eligibility description, information on rules, and student entry forms, please visit txpta.org. Entries may be submitted to Ms. Valenta no later than October 31st!
Additional questions may be sent to Nicole Marenic at artseducation@blantonpta.org.
Students may explore their creativity through one or more of the following categories: Visual Arts, Music Composition, Dance Choreography, Literature, Film Production, and Photography.
The deadline for local submission is October 31, 2019. Entries may be turned in to Ms. Valenta.

Guyer High School's Trunk or Treat
The Guyer National Honor Society would like to invite our families to their first trunk-or-treat!
On October 29th, the GHS Honor Society will be having a trick-or-treat for cans event to help fill Denton’s Salvation Army food pantry for Thanksgiving. In conjunction with this, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM, they will be hosting a trunk-or-treat for the GHS feeder middle and elementary schools! It will be in the C lot (back of the school).
There will be prizes for best costumes and face-painting! Canned donations from trunk-or-treaters will be welcomed but not required.
GHS Honor Society would appreciate an RSVP if you are attending.
