Find text resources for your classroom!

Each of the resources below...

...offer different opportunities for students and teachers to find text (and multimedia) resources. Some are eBook sources, while others are databases with multiple levels and subjects of text. Each resource description includes information on it's usability with Chromebook and iPad. If you need to use these resources away from school, it's easy--just ask your library media specialist how!


TumbleBooks

TumbleBook Library is an online library of thousands of animated picture books, chapter books and accompanying resources for multiple levels of readers. TumbleBooks resources can be used with individual students or whole classrooms. Click here for a video tutorial of all the features of TumbleBook Library and how to use them.

Tumblebooks works on Chromebook and on iPad through the browser.

OverDrive eBooks and Digital Audio

Students can access Liberty's own OverDrive eBook collection to read books of their choice, or teachers can find books for classroom use. Multiple formats are available such as Kindle, ePub, PDF, and digital audio. Most books in OverDrive are for one user at a time, and students and staff login using their LPS network username and password. OverDrive works on Chromebook through the browser by "read online" or on the iPad through multiple apps depending on the format of the eBook (i.e. Kindle, ePub, etc.).




PebbleGo

PebbleGo is the award winning PreK-3 database for reading and research and includes database options for Animals, Earth and Space, and Biographies.

All have the built in reading and research tools made popular with PebbleGo Animals. Leveled text, educational games, and videos support science concepts for your youngest researchers. PebbleGo works on Chromebook, but will not work on iPad until the release of a PebbleGo app sometime in March 2014.


KidsSearch

The search interface of KidsSearch is designed specifically for elementary/middle school students according to their needs and search abilities. The KidsSearch interface provides a child-friendly, graphically-rich design that is fun to use. KidsSearch works on Chromebook and on iPad in the browser.


Grolier Online Kids

Grolier Online Kids is the elementary interface for accessing multiple online encyclopedias and resources from Grolier. It includes text, videos, maps, pictures and more to support students reading and research needs. Grolier Online Kids works on Chromebook and on iPad through the browser.


Britannica School

In addition to encyclopedia articles, Britannica School offers thousands of videos, images, learning materials, and educational games that deliver additional activities on subjects studied in class. Science Reference Center, K-12

Science Reference Centerâ„¢ is a comprehensive research database that provides easy access to a multitude of full-text science-oriented content. Science Reference Center contains full text for hundreds of science encyclopedias, reference books, periodicals and other sources. Topics covered include biology, chemistry, earth & space science, environmental science, health & medicine, history of science, life science, physics, science & society, science as inquiry, scientists, technology and wildlife. Science Reference Center also satisfies the demand for standards-based content by providing teachers and librarians with articles correlated to state and national curriculum standards.
