The Learning Standards
Below is a list of all curricular resources that we use in D10. These resources are aligned to the Illinois State Learning Standards and Next Generation Science Standards. For more information regarding the standards please visit.
Bridges in Mathematics is a comprehensive PK–5 curriculum that equips teachers to fully implement the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics in a manner that is rigorous, coherent, engaging, and accessible to all learners.
The curriculum focuses on developing students’ deep understandings of mathematical concepts, proficiency with key skills, and ability to solve complex and novel problems. Bridges blends direct instruction, structured investigation, and open exploration. It taps into the intelligence and strengths of all students by presenting material that is as linguistically, visually, and kinesthetically rich as it is mathematically powerful
CMP is a problem-centered curriculum promoting an inquiry-based teaching-learning classroom environment. Mathematical ideas are identified and embedded in a carefully sequenced set of tasks and explored in depth to allow students to develop rich mathematical understandings and meaningful skills. The Common Core State Standards for Mathematics (CCSSM) and the Standards for Mathematical Practice are embedded within each problem. The curriculum helps students grow in their ability to reason effectively with information represented in graphic, numeric, symbolic, and verbal forms and to move flexibly among these representations to produce fluency in both conceptual and procedural knowledge.
Literacy Pre K - 8
Amplify ELA is a blended English language arts curriculum designed specifically to support students in grades 6–8 and prepare them for high school and beyond. With Amplify ELA, students learn to tackle any complex text and make observations, grapple with interesting ideas, and find relevance for themselves.
Students are engaged through dynamic texts, lively classroom discussions, and meaningful digital experiences.
STEMscopes is a comprehensive science curriculum program that is strictly standards-aligned. The curriculum is brought to life through exploratory hands-on kits that promote inquiry and excitement as students engage in real-world scientific connections. Built on the research-based 5E lesson model and aligned to NGSS standards, STEMscopes Science has everything needed to ignite your students’ passion for STEM. Stemscopes has also added their components (Intervention and Acceleration) to ensure ample support for every student.
IQWST® (Investigating and Questioning our World through Science and Technology), which transforms adolescents into scientists, was developed over a decade by science education, literacy, and learning science specialists. Students investigate questions relevant to their lives by conducting investigations; collecting and analyzing data; developing and using models to explain phenomena, and engaging in argument from evidence, all in a literacy and discourse-rich environment.
Social Studies K-8
TCI’s standards-aligned social studies curriculum meets the criteria for national frameworks such as the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework and the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for English Language Arts and Literacy. It also aligns with state standards across the United States. TCI’s programs are designed with one primary goal: to help students master the essential skills and knowledge. To this end, every unit includes primary sources and activities to make the lessons more inquiry-based and to help your students develop critical-thinking skills.Adopted 2020
