Eliana Gil, PhD, LMFT, RPT-S, ATR, recipient of the Association for Play Therapy's 2009 Lifetime Achievement Award, is a registered play therapy supervisor, a registered art therapist, and a licensed marriage, family, child counselor. A past president of the Association for Play Therapy, she has worked in the field of child abuse prevention and treatment for over 40 years and has authored numerous books.

With over 25 years of experience as a clinician, Sue is author of more than 60 publications on child counseling, play therapy, and filial therapy. Among her recent books are Integrative Play Therapy, and Child-Centered Play Therapy Research: The Evidence Base for Practitioners. Director of the University of North Texas Center for Play Therapy, Sue is a past president of the Association for Play Therapy and recipient of the 2007 APT Outstanding Research Award.
