Crib Safety.
The distance between the slats on a crib need to be atleast 6 centimeters apart. This keeps your child from getting stuck in between them. The crib does not need to have wheels, but if it does it needs to have locks on them. Children to not need any hard toys in the crib with them, nor toys with chords. Always lay infants and new borns in the crib on their back, never on their bellies. if your childs crib is near a window make sure that the window is closed while the child is in the crib. Always double check that the side of the crib will not easily fall, and the matrice should be two fingers width apart from the crib.
Good and Bad examples
Good example.
Some parents will put padding against the railing in their childs cribs so that they do not bump their heads while they are sleeping. Also, so that they do not stick their limbs through the railing. Railing still should not be more than 2 inches apart, even with padding.
Bad example.
Crib with mesh and portable crib are bad for your child. They can easily fall and can trap your child in them and your child can sufficate. Its best to buy a brand new crib that you have to put together.
Crib jumpers.
Make sure that the crib your child sleeps in is tall enough that they cannot get out. Some children will try to climb out, and they could easily fall and get injured.
