A Message from our Principal...
Dear Jefferson Families,
I hope that you are enjoying this late “Indian Summer” weather. It was a beautiful day today! While your children had a day off of their studies, teachers and all staff spent the day working - learning together. They used this precious time to deepen their knowledge so that they can help our students most effectively. We are learning in a remote environment too that puts us on the same playing field as our students!
We really want to pat our students on the back. This week, students took the NWEA math test - remotely. Actually, things went very well and students took this change in stride. We thank you, families and day care, for helping students to do their best. Next week, we will do this again with the reading test on Wednesday, November 11th. I have every faith that students will again rise to the occasion. Please remind students not to stress, but to just do their best. These results will help us plan our instruction in the coming weeks.
Remember that we have 4th grade supply pickup this Monday from 2-4. Someone from the office will be available until 6:30 pm if needed. More details regarding supply pickup below.
Please keep in touch. We value your partnership with us.
Warm regards,
Dr. Judy Floeter

Date: Monday, November 9, 2020
Time: 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
What?
Your child’s teachers will be providing curbside pickup for students to receive important 2nd quarter supplies.
Every student needs to pick up a bag containing books, art supplies, and miscellaneous materials from their teachers that they need for the 2nd quarter of remote learning.
Where?
There will be two pickup locations for curbside pickup.
Jefferson School’s Front drive off Jefferson Street (Door #1, east/front of the school)

Please follow traffic patterns for each street. Please be patient while in car lines. Staff will support traffic flow.
Walkers welcome (masks on)!

Meet Some of Jefferson's Specials Teachers!
Mrs. Binz
My family and I live in Harvard and are active in our community. We enjoy 4H, sports, camping, and spending time together. In my free time I read a lot and love to go running! I even coach Girls on the Run and the Jr. High cross country team.
I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 18 years. My first eleven years I was a classroom teacher, and then I transitioned to the library media position. I love that my current position allows me to make connections with every single student at Jefferson. In the library, my goals are to instill a love of reading, help students to find and share information, and teach students how to be good digital citizens. Students should see the library as more than a room with books, but as a place that allows them to escape, connect, learn, and explore.
Mrs. Kriete
I'm Heather Kriete and I am the library assistant. Some of my responsibilities include: taking attendance, helping students with classwork, pulling books along with contacting students when their library book is ready for pickup, helping with technology/chromebook issues, managing the chromebook and library book inventory, and I try to help with anything else that's needed. I am married with two sons. My oldest is a freshman and my youngest is in 7th grade. I enjoy reading, spending time with my family and my mother-in-law is teaching me to bake from scratch instead of a box. It's been fun! I have really enjoyed all of the family time this year, but I miss seeing the students face to face and hope they are all doing well.
Ms. Ryan
