From Behind the Desk
Hello Panther Nation!
Welcome back to our 1st Week after Thanksgiving Break!
This week our young scholars and educators are relearning classroom and schoolwide expectations. Thank you for your understanding, following, and supporting our children in the learning that takes place throughout Cimarron MS!
Learn More About Smart Social
Imagine handing your child the keys to your car without first teaching them how to drive. It's a scary thought, right? In the same vein, giving students unsupervised access to the internet without establishing rules and boundaries can be equally daunting.
Just as we guide our young scholars in learning to drive safely, it's crucial to initiate discussions about internet safety. One effective approach is creating a family media agreement. This agreement becomes a valuable tool to foster conversations and set guidelines for responsible internet usage within the household.
Let's prioritize safety by engaging in these crucial conversations about online behavior and establishing a shared understanding of how to navigate the digital world responsibly.
Sincerely,
Gabe Schmidt

“If you can learn a simple trick, Scout, you’ll get along a lot better with all kinds of folks. You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view, until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”
— Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird
Superintendent Dr. Grunewald recently announced our exciting EPS partnership with Smart Social. In case you missed her message, Smart Social is an online resource to provide our Edmond families with information on social media safety. It’s our goal as a district to help provide you with these resources so you can make informed decisions for your students. Each month we’ll be sharing a Smart Social Tip of the Month in our newsletter. This month's tip is all about social media family agreements.
