Thank you! Just wanted to make a quick shut out to a couple of people for helping with the Buford transition. Thank you Karen Modica for helping move stuff over from Buford and then helping set up in Suwanee. Don't you guys love the curtains that hide all those boxes? That was Karen's awesome idea! Thank you Corey for moving our Buford fridges to Suwanee. We love our all our fridges together in now 1 spot! And of course many, many thanks to Tanya at Cultured Traditions for hosting us and letting all of us invade her building every week. Thank you to all of you reading this and your support for letting us do what we do!

Jars - Cedar Rock Dairy - Please make sure to return your clean jars weekly. If you order raw Jersey cow milk in glass, you have to have jars to fill already at the farm! Sam has been very kind to lend jars to folks that are missing them but he can longer do that. If you don't have glass jars, your order will arrive in plastic and you will have to pay the additional upcharge for plastic since that is an additional cost to him. Thank you for your understanding. If you need extra jars they are available on the market. Please contact Sam if you have any questions (770) 490-5190

Recipe of the Week
Pulled Pork in a Crock Pot
This is my go to recipe for pulled pork in a crock pot. I've tried many but my family prefers this one the best. Almost all the items can be found on the market website. We'll be doing a group buy from Wilderness Family Naturals soon and you'll find the spices on the market then. I usually serve with a side of slaw or veggies and gluten free cornbread muffins. Leftovers make great tacos!

Cook Time: 7 hours
Total Time: 7 hours 5 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients
- 3 tablespoons paprika
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon thyme, dried
- ½ cup honey
- ¼ cup red wine vinegar
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 onion, peeled and cut in half
- 3 pounds pork shoulder, (boston butt) cut in half
Instructions
-
In a medium size mixing bowl, mix together the first six ingredients (all of the spices) with a fork.
-
Pour in the honey, vinegar, and olive oil and stir to form a paste.
-
Place the onion in the bottom of the slow cooker. Top it with the 2 pieces of pork and then pour the honey paste over all sides of the pork pieces. It’s okay if some of it (or a lot of it) just drips down to the bottom.
-
Turn the slow cooker on to low and cook for 7 to 8 hours or until the meat is tender enough to be easily shredded with a fork.
-
Serve the shredded pork warm with fixings like homemade coleslaw and cornbread. My husband also likes his dipped in a little hot sauce. Refrigerate or freeze the leftovers.
Recipe Notes
I used a pork shoulder, but you could experiment with a pork roast or pork loin. Another serving option is whole-wheat hamburger buns - pulled pork sandwiches!

Great Lakes Gelatin (the Green can) Collagen Hydrolysate (beef kosher) Unflavored
Gelatin (also known as cooked collagen) has wonderful anti-inflammatory and anti-aging qualities, as it helps to fill in the missing amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) in the standard American diet. This is a completely different from the jiggly gelatin product most of us grew up eating as kids.
Homemade bone broth is chock full of gelatin and very nutrient dense but Great Lakes Gelatin- Collagen is a convenient way to get gelatin consistently into your diet.
What is Collagen Hydrolysate?
Hydrolyzed Collagen is the unique combination of amino acids in concentrated levels that promotes rapid re-production of blood cells for healing and conditioning over other proteins especially for bone and joint health care. This low molecular weight protein is easily digested for healthy enrichment in minutes after ingestion. It will not congeal because it has been hydrolyzed for quick assimilation and improved hydration to the connective tissue. Collagen is important to nitrogen balance, now considered an anti-aging product as it supports age related cartilage damage, and collagen loss. source: http://greatlakesgelatin.com/)
How do I use this product?
You can mix it in drinks, shakes, smoothies, or add a tablespoon to your favorite recipe to give it an anti-inflammatory protein boost. It will dissolve in cold liquids very easily.
How Much Do You Need?
Recommended dosage: Take one rounded tablespoon (10-12 g) in the morning, and the same amount before going to bed in the late evening which will help reduce appetite. This product has a low molecular weight so it will dissolve in cold, warm, or hot liquids.
Important Note: Remember not to get too carried away with gelatin. Adding too much too quickly can cause digestive issues: bloating, loss of appetite, stomach ache are just a few side effects.
It’s important to remember that more gelatin is not always better, especially if you are adding it to your diet for the first time.
Gelatin should be used in addition to a nutrient dense diet and not to replace real food like homemade bone broths and grass fed meats.
It is also really important to take this daily. You will see maximum results if you include it in your daily routine.

I have heard dozens of success stories from co-op members and my own family members. Please feel free to email me your personal testimony on your experience with this product!
