Final Week of Quarter 1

Next week is the last week of quarter 1. Please be sure that you are checking Infinite Campus and Google Classroom to be sure your work is all submitted. If you have questions, please reach out to your band teacher.

Preparing for Quarter 2

Cardinal Heights will have another pick up day for getting materials for your quarter 2 classes. ALL 8th graders will have a band folder to pick up - even if they are not enrolled in band for quarter 2.

Quarter 2 means that lesson schedules will change. Please be sure you have joined the Google Classroom for your band and watch for announcements. Contact your teacher if you need the code for your class.

Band Fundraisers

Each year, the Sun Prairie Band Boosters hold fundraisers to support the band program. Funds raised help support our band students for things such as guest artists and clinicians. Students also benefit from these fundraisers directly by having a portion of the sales depostied directly into their band ledgers. There are currently several opportunities for raising funds (please click links for details):

Fruit, Cookie Dough, and Pastry Puff Sale

Bucky Book Sale

Band Swag Sale

Amazon Smile

Specific fundraising questions can be directed to Kelley Ruplinger (secretary@spbb.org). Fruit, Cookie Dough, and Pastry Puff sale questions can be directed to Cindy Melendy (spbbfruitsale@gmail.com).

C-Heights Jazz Reminder

Jazz is open to ALL band students & instruments - now is a great time to start. At this point, there will be no auditioned or separated groups.

  • Mondays 3:10 - 4:00 pm
  • Thursday 7 - 7:45 am
*NOTE - not all students will be able to make every rehearsal, that's okay - even 1x/week is great.

If you haven't already and are interested, please complete this survey.

Please reach out to Mr. Melrose or Mrs. Diallo if you have any questions!

Virtual Private Lessons

For students that are interested in taking private lessons for enrichment and extra help from a professional musician, please consider reaching out to our list of fantastic professional musicians. These are a group of people that are connected to Sun Prairie in various ways - some are alumni! Whether you participated in last year's "Band Lesson Academy" or your looking for more - please check out this fantastic resource!

Band Website

The Cardinal Heights Band Website will have links to lesson schedules, newsletter, band supplies, and other tools in case you ever need to look for something shared previously but lost it in your inbox. Consider the website as the "go to" place to find out information this year.

Ordering Band Supplies

Visit Ward Brodt's website to order any band supplies you need. Order what you need and then at check out you can choose home delivery or school delivery under the shipping section. If you choose school delivery, your supplies will be delivered to Cardinal Heights and we will make sure you get them.
