Conference Time!
As we begin to transition out of winter and into spring later this month, we also begin to ramp up planning for some of our bigger events like 5th Grade Camp, state testing including SBA, & Science, some really fun field trips, not to mention all the projects and performances that will be coming up as well. Before we get to all that though, we will be hosting our student led conferences. Don't forget that tomorrow, Wednesday the 8th, is an early release day at 11:50 and both Thursday and Friday there is no school so teachers and meet with families at pre-arranged conference times.
Student-led conferences are a great way to check in on how students are progressing with the academic and behavior goals, seeing where they need more support and growth, as well as having students set goals that will help them be successful through the remainder of the year and beyond. These conferences allow students, families, and teachers a wonderful opportunity to collaborate and keep the lines of communication flowing.
Our wonderful POA volunteers will also be running the Scholastic Spring Bookfair during conferences.
Please continue to take a look at the information and resources below including the upcoming events and dates for your calendar.
Kind regards,
Don Sims
Principal Hedden Elementary
P.S. Keep encouraging kiddos to read at home, whether on their own or with others;-)

=-= Important 5th Grade Camp News =-=

We are thankful to all the families who have volunteered to chaperone our three day and two night excursion. While we had an abundance of moms and other family matriarchs selected to host a cabin, we are still short dads or other patriarchal figures to supervise our groups of boys.
If you would like to volunteer as a chaperone for one of our boy's cabins, please reach out to your student's 5th grade teacher. All chaperones do need to complete the online volunteer process on our district website.
