Dear Mustangs,

Welcome back to school! We have had a phenomenal start for 2017-2018!

I encourage you to read our weekly newsletters as not only do we update you with calendar events but share celebrations, information relevant to our students and community, and photos. Your teachers will also be sending a weekly newsletter to share information pertinent to your children's classes.

We do have a Lost and Found but hope to have no lost items. Please help us by placing your child's name on lunch boxes, jackets, and sweaters. We check all items for names so that they may be returned to owners. Items that are not claimed and owners are not located will be donated at the end of each month to a sister school in need. Please know that we will actively pursue owners.

SAFETY: This is priority! We will be practicing drills such as Lockdowns, Tornado and Fire Drills. Please do not be alarmed if your little one comes home and shares that we turned lights off, locked all doors, and hid until they were told to come out. Yes, this is a part of what we do in teaching safety and maintaining safety.

Safety does continue to also be a focus in car rider. Please have your child exit the car on the passenger side as cars pass on the driver's side. I do want to remind you that if you are parking you should do so in the front parking lot. There is no parking on the bus loop.

Thank you for your help in keeping our children and staff safe at MES and for sharing your children with us!

Have a wonderful weekend! Read, relax, and enjoy your child/children!

Yours truly,

Jan Fickling, Principal of Midway Elementary

Bus Info:

Please note that students are only allowed to ride the bus assigned to their home address. Because the buses are at capacity, students are not allowed to ride alternate buses home with friends. The only case where this is allowable is if a student needs to ride his or her assigned bus but get off at a different stop on the same route. In this case, a written note is required from the parent so that a bus pass can be issued by administration.

Please note:
