Helping Hands-Helping Teachers
Children whose parents are involved in their schools do better. Research has shown that children of a school volunteer make better grades and perform better on tests. They’re also better behaved, have better attendance, and are more likely to graduate and continue their education. The more parents participate at school, the more successful their children will be.
We will be offering a variety of ways for parents to get involved in our school that fits your schedule. Please read the information below to learn more about one way you can get involved.
To learn more about how you can be a Helping Hands Volunteer- Please see Mrs. Campbell's ParentSquare message on Saturday, Sept 2nd.
Are you a Watch Dog?
Purpose
WATCH D.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students) is a family and community engagement educational initiative.
There are 2 primary goals of the WATCH D.O.G.S. program:
- To provide positive male role models for the students, demonstrating by their presence that education is important.
- To provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security and reduce bullying.
We believe that all of us want the same things for our kids and these values unite us. This program serves to bring communities closer together based on these values-based goals. Ultimately, our purpose is to change the country for the better by doing our small part to provide support to our educators and encouragement to our children.

Reminders to Families:
A few helpful reminders...
- Have your child eat a good breakfast and get plenty of sleep the night before the test.
- Make sure their device is charged AND updated the night before.
- Talk with your child about the importance of trying their best and taking their time tomorrow! A growth mindset and focus is important!
- Check out the Family Toolkit for family resources can be found here!
- The MAP test is designed to give questions based on the student's level. Therefore, everybody's test will be different. The questions are designed to get more challenging as they go to show where growth is made and where area of focus should be next.
