STAAR Next Week
This is just a reminder that this coming week we will be taking all of our STAAR tests. Please make sure your child gets a good night's rest each night. They have been working so hard and we can't wait to see them succeed!
Teacher Appreciation Week
We cannot thank those enough who participated in teacher appreciation week. We were shown so much love and received the best treats. Thank you for everything you have done for each of us this year in making us feel appreciated.
The Principal's update from medlin middle school
PLEASE send a water bottle with your child daily
The office does not have water bottles to give out to students and too many students are leaving class each day to go and ask for cups. To help with this please send a bottle with your child daily.
Lunch Visitors!
We love having visitors on campus, and we are excited to bring back the tradition of lunch visitors at elementary school! In order to accommodate our guests and maintain a safe environment, lunch visitors will be limited as follows:
Homework
Every Monday students get a new homework for the week. There is a math side and an ELA side. Students have all week to work on their homework. They can work on it in the mornings from 7:15-7:40 or at home if they choose. Homework is due every Friday when students get to Mrs. Morales' class! Students are ALWAYS welcome to ask any questions about homework or assignments during the morning from 7:15-7:40 to any of the 5th grade teachers. This is what we call tutoring time.
- Many students are missing homework and homework corrections.
- If your child ever makes below a 70 on either side of their homework they can do corrections to bring that side up to a 70.
- Please make sure that your child has turned in all homework and corrections, this has a BIG impact on their grades!
Missing Work Email
If your child has work that has not been turned in, you may receive an automated email that explains what they are missing. If you have any questions please email your child's teacher, NOT Mrs. Valdez.
Friendly Reminders
- Please make sure your child has a pair of working headphones at school. It can be distracting if there is a lot of noise from multiple Chromebooks at once.
- Please send a snack and water bottle with your child daily. We each lunch at 10:15 so we get a little hungry in the afternoon!
- Check your child's take home folder daily and make sure it comes back to school!
- Please let the front office know of any ride changes, we do not get a chance to check our emails until around 2:00 so we might not get to your email in time for dismissal.
Stay Updated on Seesaw
Please make sure that students AND families are checking Seesaw daily! Let your homeroom teacher know if you need help getting connected.
