Happy Holidays
Our school vacation begins on Wednesday, December 23rd.
We return to school on Monday, January 4th, 2016. School begins at 8:30am.
Forest Avenue Feed a Friend
Our grade three students ran a very successful "Feed a Friend" food drive. They sent their food collection to Martin Luther King center in Newport. Here is a picture of Nyerel "Thunder' Layfield carry goods to the van. Thanks to all who helped out in this food drive.
School Spirit Day - Mrs. Bowley's Room
On Friday December 18th we had our fun school spirit day.
Students dressed in Feinstein shirts, Forest Avenue shirts and our school colors, blue and white. We had our Jamboree for good behavior. All students had a 45 minutes exercise time through "Go Noodle". We also took pictures of all the classes that had 100% participation in the spirit day.

Reminder - School Absences and Tardies
Parents please make sure your child/children arrive at school on time. Every time a student is late he/she starts the day off on the wrong foot. They have to play catch up and their day becomes very disconnected. Recent studies have shown that students who are consistently late for school run the risk of not doing well in school. This situation becomes habitual and often families end up in truancy court. Please get your child to school on time. Remember, that we ask that you do not use the front bus circle when dropping off your children in the morning. Please use the drop off circle that has a protective barrier so that the students walking into school do not have any chance of contact with moving vehicles.
Enjoy your Vacation
The Forest Avenue School Staff wishes everyone a very happy vacation. We wish everyone a Happy New Year! Make some good new year's resolutions to work hard in school and always be the best you can be. See you in 2016.
