- Honors Chapel (K-4) 2:30 – 3:15 (You may take your child home immediately after the K-4 Chapel, but please be sure to check out with your child's teacher before you go.)
We could use some help taking down lunch tables and setting up chairs in the JK Stevens Commons from 1:00-1:15 that day. If you are available to help with that, we would sure appreciate it! Plus, you can count it toward your service hours if you would like to!
International Host Family Meeting
Hopefully you know that Traders has a history of welcoming international students into the academy. We've had kids here from Brazil, South Korea, Croatia, Serbia, Romania, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Jamaica, China, Guatemala - lots of fun places. This year we have had five students from China and five on a short-term program from Guatemala.
Why do we do this? Because it's wonderful for us to share Jesus with them, and it's wonderful for our students to learn about God's world and other cultures through our visitors. These kids are pretty far from home, and most of them need a family while they are here. That's where you fit in.
As our international program grows, we need host families for many of the students who attend TPCA. We are seeking host homes for 2015-2016:
- We hope to have six students visiting from Guatemala from mid-October through mid-December. This is a two month commitment to host a student.
- We already have five Chinese students enrolled for fall, two of which need a home. This is a full year commitment from late July through May.
We will host an information meeting after spring break on April 7th at 7:00 pm. Please prayerfully consider opening your home to one of our international students. For more information, contact Mrs. Kanzler at tkanzler@tpcs.org.
2015 Bostick Service Day-April 10
For a number of years, TPCA has devoted one or or two days throughout the school year for our students to go out into our community and serve at various organizations. Bostick Service Day is our biggest student service opportunity event of the year.
This special day is named after Scott Bostick, former TPCA Middle School Principal and husband of our very own art teacher, Mrs. Angi Bostick. Tragically, Scott lost his life and went on to be with the Lord in 2005. Although our service day is a way that we honor Christ, it is also a way of honoring Scott and his family for his legacy of servant leadership to the Academy and to our community.
This year, Bostick Service Day will take place on Friday, April 10th. Fifth and sixth grade students will serve on campus at TPCA, while our 7th-12th grade students will serve in various capacities both on and off campus. Our K-4th grade students have participated throughout the school year with various initiatives that support our Bostick Service Day.
We have identified various organizations (such as Salvation Army, local churches and others) where many of our 7th-12th grade students will serve that day with their mentor group leaders. Additionally, we have identified two widows in Zionsville who our students will assist with cleanup, landscaping and other needs at their homes.
Christ calls us to love and serve others, and we want to partner with you in providing opportunities for your child to bless those in need so that they will be prepared and equipped to impact the world for Christ even after graduation! Please join us in lifting this day up to the Lord and ask that he would guard it for His glory.
Thanks so much for the continued opportunity to serve and make it a GREAT day!

New Junior High Track Coach
The TPCA Athletic Department is excited to announce that Gina Jackson will be taking over our MS/JH Track program, beginning with the Spring 2015 season. Coach Jackson is a former Division I track athlete at California State University, where she is a university record holder, an All Big-West Conference Team recipient, and an 8 time letter-winner. She has a wealth of coaching experience, including being the Head Varsity Track Coach at both William P. Knight High School in Palmdale, CA, and Lutheran Parker High School in Aurora, CO.

Junior High Social April 11
The Jr. High Student Council is planning a social on April 11th, 2015 in the TPCA gym at 6:30pm to 9:30pm. We are asking students to dress in neon clothing because there will be black lights and glow sticks. The ticket price is 10 dollars a person at the door. This price will include fun music (DJ), games, a photo booth, and two glowing accessories (necklaces, bracelets, etc.). The DJ is a school approved business and will play student appropriate music with no slow dances.
We are asking students to bring snacks and drinks to share (please see the list below). If you have any other questions, please feel free to e-mail Mrs. Mueller at pmueller@tpcs.org.

March Madness Fabulous Four
Competition is increasing! Purdue is once again in the lead! Go Boilermakers! IU is still MIA from the top 4, but we are confident the Hoosier alums will come through for their alma mater in the end.
#1 — Purdue
#2 -- Butler
#3 -- Ohio State
#4 -- Northwestern
Is your favorite school represented? Send your basketball and contribution and help your team rise to the top!
Let’s have fun with March Madness again this year—but with a NEW TWIST!
We are lining the halls with basketballs representing gifts made to Traders Point from March 9- ? Since we have not yet reached our financial goal, we have extended the deadline for a few more weeks! Decorate your basketball (click here for basketball) with your favorite college team and your NAME. Then return it to school with your gift. No gift is too small, ALL balls will be displayed, and your donation (gift amounts remain anonymous) will be added to the total for your team.
We will keep a running total for each team throughout. Daily results for the “FABULOUS FOUR”, the top four teams of the day, will be posted in the Eagle’s Nest, at EC and on Facebook and Twitter! The WINNING TEAM will be announced on April 6th. The winning team’s school flag will be flown on our flagpole for a week and then displayed in the Eagle’s Nest for the rest of this school year.
Your gift is added to your favorite College Team’s TOTAL. The team with the highest total WINS!
Have Fun and Good Luck!

SGO Giving - and Receiving – Opportunity
URGENT UPDATE: Because this opportunity is becoming more well known, more Indiana donors than ever are participating. For the first time, the $7.5 million fund will likely be used up before the end of the fiscal year. Only $821,000 remains in the account. Organizations state-wide are rallying to make sure their gifts are made before this fund runs out. Therefore, we are notifying all of our donors and potential donors of the new urgency to make sure gifts are made as soon as possible before the opportunity for the 50% credit is gone. Traders Point's need is still $63,000, so it is imperative that we raise this amount as soon as possible.
Three years ago, TPCA established a scholarship fund through Sagamore Institute called the SGO. The SGO is a result of the Indiana School Tax Credit Program and is a special scholarship that helps qualifying families better afford to send their kids to the school of their choice. Traders Point Christian Academy awards SGO Scholarships to qualifying families. Then both Sagamore and Traders Point work throughout the year to raise these scholarship funds through donations. However, there are two more partners involved; the state of Indiana and you, the donor.
Every year Indiana allocates $7.5 million in tax CREDITS for SGOs to offer individuals and businesses as INCENTIVES for funding these scholarships. This means a gift to Traders Point's SGO fund entitles you to at least 50% off your gift (more savings through federal deductions if you itemize and depending on your tax bracket)!
For example, let's say you owe the state $1,500 in taxes. If you give a gift of $3,000 (double what you owe), you will receive $1,500 back in tax credit. Your out of pocket is still only $1,500, but Traders Point receives a $3,000 gift (less a 10% fee from Sagamore)! In fact, with the additional federal deduction, your gift could cost you less than $1,500!
If you have state tax liability, this opportunity is quite valuable. It gives you the ability to provide a substantial gift to the school, provides benefit regarding your tax liability, and most importantly, gifts our students with an education that will impact them for eternity!

SCRIP- Shop to Earn Cash Back for Tuition!
With scrip fundraising, families can easily earn cash for tuition for their own children (80%) and for the school (20%) while they shop. (Credit percentages are based on the rebate amount earned and varies per retailer.)
Scrip is simple. Order gift cards, e-cards, reloadable or printable certificates for many places at which you shop, dine and play already and a percentage of what you spend comes right back to you as a credit on your student account. Simply use scrip gift cards for everyday purchases, and earn a rebate on each one at no additional cost.
Scrip is much easier than in the past. Families will purchase all orders online – no checks, no submitting order forms to the school -- and your cards/certificates are available either instantly for print, redemption on your Smartphone, or as reloadable gift cards. For more information, visit the Scrip website at www.shopwithscrip.com.
To sign up you will need our Traders Point enrollment code. However, we are unable to publicly publish our enrollment code for security reasons. Please email tpcascrip@gmail.com for this code and further directions.
We pray this will be a blessing to all of our Traders Point families in the New Year!
Important News … We’re Starting FRESH!
The Marsh Fresh Ideas for Education program has been in existence for over nine years. During that time thousands of shoppers have registered their Fresh IDEA, OMalia’s CouponPLUS and MainStreet Market Reward$ card and many of those cards have been lost, shoppers have moved away and children have moved on to other schools or graduated.
In order for the program to more accurately and fairly represent the efforts of active schools Marsh is requiring all card holders re-enroll for the 2014-2015 program in order to continue to earn credit for Traders Point Christian Academy. Card holders may begin enrolling & re-enrolling their cards to support our school now. The link is http://www.freshideasforeducation.com/cards/ Our school code is: 28886.
Each time you shop with your Fresh Ideas Card you earn points for Traders Point. We use these points to order equipment and supplies at the end of the year. It is a convenient and simple way to support our school. Thank you for taking a minute to sign up!
So far we have had only 15 shoppers sign up. It's quick and easy – just click on the link, enter your Fresh Ideas card number, and indicate Traders Point. Thank you!
