The Mustang Minute
Week of October 18th
FROM THE PRINCIPALS' OFFICES
Hello Mustang Families,
Thank you for your continued support to the district and our schools.
During the month of October, Brookwood Teachers will be sending out short surveys to gather feedback on the instruction they are providing. At Brookwood Elementary School these surveys will be going out to parents. At Brookwood Middle School the surveys will be given to the students. This information is intended to provide students/parents a voice and to get honest feedback about what they love, like, and dislike about the learning environment. Your feedback is greatly valued and appreciated and collective information will be used to help with instructional decisions moving forward.
Enjoy your weekend and let's make it a great week!!!

Parent/Teacher Conferences
A strong Home-School partnership is essential to your student's success. Educational research abundantly shows that strong collaboration leads to improved student achievement, better behavior, better attendance, higher self-concept and more positive attitudes toward school and learning. That being said, we would like to invite you all to attend our first round of Parent/Teacher Conferences at your child's school for the evenings of October 27th and 28th. Please sign up for a conference slot by October 20th. Teachers will be contacting families who have not signed up by this date to choose from a remaining time slot. Conferences can be scheduled to be face to face, virtual, or over the phone -- please be aware of the times and dates that are available for all of your child’s teacher(s) you wish to see.
Upon selecting a time slot, you will be prompted to leave a public comment stating whether you are signing up for a face to face, virtual, or phone conference. If you sign up for a virtual meeting, your teacher(s) will be reaching out to you with the meeting link.
Click the BUTTON below for your school to sign up for your conference appointment(s)!

ACTIVITIES FOR THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 18th:
Unity Day falls on Wednesday, October 20th and we will be asking all staff and students to wear the color ORANGE as a united front for a kinder, more accepting, inclusive world.
- Greatness Task: Know of someone who might be going through a rough patch and be needing a little extra love? Write them a note of encouragement!
- Parent/Child Bullying Conversation Sheets: If you haven't already, talk with your student, sign, and return bottom of form to the office at your child's school for a chance to win prizes. We are extending the due date for these sheets to Friday, October 29th!
- Bullying Prevention Project Contest: We are calling on ALL students to harness their creative juices to make a project promoting friendship, support, and togetherness. The theme is "Growing Greatness through Kindness and Inclusion." Instructions were sent home with students this past Tuesday. Click the button below to view an electronic version.
Stay tuned for more Bullying Prevention Month announcements in the Mustang Minute for the weeks ahead!

Families in Need- Clothing Drive
Our Families in Need program is designed to help out families in our district who are having difficulty meeting the immediate needs of their children. We are thankful for the Loaves and Fishes Food Pantry for fulfilling food and toys for our families in need within our community. This year our Brookwood's Family Engagement Team and Brookwood Family Organization will be working together to get clothing fulfilled for our families in need through this clothing drive. If you are a family in need of newly purchased clothing, please fill out the following form: https://tinyurl.com/58czkrtt
Those willing to donate or adopt, we will be pushing out more information on this next week.
