Ms. Stilwell's Weekly Update

News From the Keller EI Program

Welcome to Mid-November!!

Time is flying here in the Keller EI Program!! It seems like only yesterday we were getting back into the groove of a new school year....and now we are already into the second marking period!!! Time certainly flies when we are having fun. Take a look below to get up to speed on all of the latest news and coming events.

The Feast of Thanks

Last year we started a new tradition in the Keller EI Program....our Annual Feast Of Thanks. We use this opportunity to take a step back, slow down, and most importantly acknowledge ALL that we are thankful for. This year our Feast of Thanks will take place on Tuesday Nov. 24 at 1:30pm. We will be providing a "feast" to the students on this day - turkey, ham, stuffing, vegetables, mashed potatoes....and of course pumpkin pie - so please pack accordingly or have them order through the school. Our afternoon will consist of our feast, followed by our social skills activities for the day in which we will be discussing what we are thankful for and why, as well as what it means to show gratitude. This was a day that the kiddos truly enjoyed last year, so we are all looking forward to making this a yearly tradition in the Keller EI Program.

Thanksgiving Break this year is 3 full days - Wednesday 11/25-Friday 11/27. School will resume on Monday 11/30 at 8:25am. As my grandpa would always say...."Don't eat too much turkey.....or is it don't eat too much, turkey???"

Report Cards

Report cards will be sent home on Monday 11/16. Along with the report cards, please look for your child's IEP Progress Update (if applicable), as well as the results from their Fall NWEA Assessment. When you receive the folder, please sign the line next to "First Marking Period", and return the folder to the teacher the next day. If you have any questions about what you have received in your folder, please do not hesitate to contact me and I will do everything I can to answer them for you.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Parent/Teacher Conferences are on the following dates: 11/23, 12/1, and 12/3. If you have NOT scheduled a time with me yet please let me know and I will send a scheduling sheet home with your student ASAP. Each conference will be no more than 30 minutes, and we will use this time to discuss: behavior data, academic concerns, as well as any additional information you would like to discuss.
