6 Weeks - DONE!
Wow, time flies!
Updates For Each Level!
Hello, choir parents! Wow, the first 6 weeks are FINISHED and your kids are thriving! They have done SO well and I’m extremely proud!
- 6th Grade - we have completed learning our first full song and have started on our second! Your kids sound amazing, I’m excited to hear and see more improvements as time goes on!
- 7th & 8th Grade Mixed Choirs - we have moved along swimmingly! Pitch-matching is still a little challenging, but from day one to now, improvements have been made by leaps and bounds! 2nd period is divided into 3 voice parts (Soprano, Alto, Baritone) and the sound is coming along! 7th period has begun to divide into sections, but we are running into some roadblocks due to how small the class is. Not to worry, a roadblock is NOT impossible to overcome! We have some talkative moments in both classes, but the laughs and smiles I see every day is so worth it!
- Advanced Girls - WOW!!! The sound, THE SOUND!!! I am THRILLED to showcase this choir in UIL and other performances! We have begun learning a beautiful song and the girls LOVE it!! Or, at least they sing like they do!
- High School - your kids never cease to amaze me with their abilities!! I’ve taken some time to bond with them and to help us get to know each other, and I can say that I have NEVER laughed so much! I love your kids, and I’m positive that the culture of choir is changing! Never have I seen a group of kids just yearn to make music! This is exactly what I’ve been searching for in my career and I feel so blessed to be in this position with them! In this class, we have 3 songs that we are currently working on! Parents, you should be SO PROUD!!!!
The negative things I have been dealing with in class are not even close to being considered negative. The only issue I am having is how talkative they are, but that doesn’t stop them from learning once they’ve been redirected! I feel respected, trusted, and I see a desire to improve in your kids every day! In some more than others, but regardless, I am grateful!
Have You Ordered Your T-Shirt Yet?!
T-Shirt sales have begun! Thank you to those who have ordered their t-shirts already, and thank you in advance to those who will be ordering by October 5th! Shirts are $15 and are required for the students to purchase, as we will be wearing them for the concerts and trips! Should there be any difficulties or concerns with finances, please reach out to me so that we can work something out. I, myself, have come into hard times before, so there’s no shame in needing some assistance!
$15/shirt in Cash or Check will be accepted! To turn in money, please see Mrs. B in the Junior High Office! You will receive a receipt.
Fundraisers!
Fundraiser events are coming! I am projecting that in the next 2 weeks we will start our fundraiser. Fundraising is NOT required for every student to participate! Only those who want to do this can do so! In order to be approved for fundraising, at least one parent must come to the fundraising interest meeting that I will be scheduling within the next few days! I am projecting for 10/5 to be our meeting, but this is subject to change. If you cannot make it, let’s schedule another time to gather all information you need to get started! Check back here in a few days to see the selected date! I will also let your kids know and will create a flyer to send home.
