A Message from the Director
Parents and Students,
As we return tomorrow for our final 12 days of the fall semester, I hope everyone enjoyed a week of thankfulness with family and friends! The month of December will be busy! STAAR retests are the week of December 9th, BBBS evening event is December 10th, TCC finals will be complete and college grades in by December 13th, and CA finals will be December 16 & 17 with early release each day! Our students have achieved so much this semester! I am proud of their hard work, commitment to excellence and their perseverance when times were tough! We will be celebrating student success for the fall on Friday, January 17 at 8:35am at Center Corner on the TCC campus. All students on the A and AB Honor for the fall semester will be recognized. Parents please remember to check your students' grades on Skyward and ask them to show you their grades for their college courses. If you have question concerning their high school courses, please email their teacher! If you have questions concerning their college courses, please email their Pathways teacher and she will assist you. Together we will make sure all of our students find their path to success.
Let's' finish the semester Strong!

If anyone needs to set up a time to discuss grades or emotions during this time please send Mr. Cavanagh an email so that we can get through this together! Updates To GCISD Wireless And Your Personal Devices
Over the next month, GCISD technology will be making modifications to the wireless network to provide a more secure environment and ensure the protection and privacy of user data.
The main change that you will notice as an end-user is how your phone or non-gcisd device connects to the wifi network here in GCISD.
As you are likely aware, there are several wifi networks within GCISD.
The two main wifi networks are :
GCISD-Wireless (the primary instructional network)
Starting December 2nd, upon our return from the Thanksgiving holiday, several changes will go into effect regarding the GCISD-Wireless network.
The main change that you, as an end-user, will notice is that only GCISD issued devices will be able to connect to the primary instructional network GCISD-Wireless.
All personal devices will need to connect to the GCISD-BYOD/GUEST network.
You can change your device connection to the GCISD-BYOD/GUEST network starting now or at any time before December 2 to ensure no downtime when returning from the break.
This change is essential as we move all "unknown" devices off of our main instructional network and help increase our security and data protection capabilities here in the district.
Each day over 40,000 devices connect to the GCISD wireless network. Much like an interstate highway, the more traffic (devices) you push down one lane the more congestion and slowness everyone experiences. It's imperative for us to protect and ensure a quality instructional network at all times.
We appreciate your help and understanding with this transition.
TSI Testing Policy
Next week students who have not yet passed all 3 TSI tests will receive a hard copy of the TSI Testing policy for the 2019-2020 school. This policy will be distributed in the Pathways classes. We are asking parents and guardians to please review the hard copy of the testing policy with their student, sign it, and send it back to school with your student. Signed policies may be given to your student’s Pathways teacher. The policy will help students focus on the tests that they need at different stages of their associate degree. If you have any questions about your student’s progress in completing the Reading, Writing, or Math TSI test, please email Kristinia Haney at email@example.com
Collegiate Academy 2019-2020 TSI Evening Testing Schedule

If your student has accidentally deleted the email or needs assistance signing up, please ask them to email Kristinia Haney at firstname.lastname@example.org for assistance.

Notes from the Attendance office:
Contact Amy Silva-Adams for Attendance questions.
If a student must be absent from school a parent/guardian should call attendance or send an email each day to report the absence. I will also accept a note from the parent/guardian the day the student returns to school.
If a student is missing for a doctor's appointment, it is very important to always get a note from the doctor and present it when signing into school or returning the following day. You or your physician may email the doctor's note directly to me.
