The Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity - May 27
Sunday's Gospel Reading
Matthew 28:16-20 Jesus sends his disciples to make disciples of all nations.
Family Connection
The Solemnity of the Holy Trinity invites us to remember that God has revealed himself to us as one God in three Persons. As Jesus departed from his disciples, he shared with them the power to make disciples of all nations. He taught his disciples to invite others to share in the life of the blessed Trinity by sharing with others the gift of Baptism. This continues to be the mission of the Church. Each of us who has been baptized shares in the life of the blessed Trinity and also shares in the Church’s mission of inviting others to share in God’s love.
As you gather as a family, bring out pictures and other mementos of family celebrations of the Sacrament of Baptism. Talk about the significance of Baptism with your family. Read together Sunday's Gospel, Matthew 28:16-20. Notice that Jesus taught his disciples to baptize all nations in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. What else does this remind you of? (the Sign of the Cross) Recall that whenever we pray the Sign of the Cross, we are reminding ourselves that we are united with God through our Baptism and share in the life of the blessed Trinity. Conclude by thanking God for sharing his life with us. Pray together the Glory Be to the Father.

St. Luke Catholic School Vision Statement
We are a faith-filled school that embraces the spiritual, physical, emotional, and academic wellness of our community. Infused with God’s love, we guide, inspire and challenge one another to achieve our greatest potentials, believing that we have the capacity to make a difference in the world.
"And the child grew and became strong in spirit filled with wisdom; and the grace of GOD was upon him.” ~Luke 2:40
We are excited to share our school's new vision statement. Staff and families were invited to contribute and the message above is what we agreed upon. Our next step is to come up with a mission statement, short statement reflecting our vision and purpose, for St. Luke. We invite families and students to submit their idea for a mission statement.

Provincial Busing Survey
The department of Education with the Alberta government would like to get Alberta families views on student transportation and the student transportation eligibility criteria. To do so, they are conducting an online survey that will close on June 15, 2018.
These responses will help the government determine if changes are needed to the student transportation system, and if so, what changes to make.
To share your thoughts and priorities on the student transportation criteria, please fill out the online survey.

There is no replacement for face to face, heart to heart connection.
We know that one thing that stands in the way of connecting in a meaningful way with those that we love, is our over dependence on our phones and devices.
Let’s take advantage of this beautiful weather by heading outside and spending some time with our friends and family.
"Young, old, or in between, we can reap extraordinary benefits by connecting - or reconnecting - to nature. For the jaded and weary among us, the outdoor world can expand our senses and reignite a sense of awe and wonder not felt since we were children; it can support better health, enhanced creativity, new careers and business opportunities, and act as a bonding agent for families and communities. Nature can help us feel fully alive." Richard Louv
