Timers on Google Slides for Writing Prompt Prep
- reading the prompt
- thinking about the prompt
- planning
- drafting
- revising
- editing
Slides include thoughts for guided practice for each of these steps in the writing process for a 55 minute time frame.
The video below shows where you can edit the slides to make it personal for your students. Want to create your own version for a different purpose? Use this file as a template.
Can you think of a way to use slides + timers for guide your students through any other process?

Adding Chrome extensions on Chromebooks
It is a small piece of software that enhances the use of Google Chrome.
You may want to use Chrome extensions personally and you may want students to add them to their Chromebooks!
Browse the Chrome Web Store to find some useful extensions.
Find one you want to use? Click on it, then choose Add to Chrome.
See below to view where your extensions will appear after they've been added.
Some of my favorites are:
Screencastify (create videos of screen recordings or using the webcam)
Google Keep (add links and notes to Google Keep)
The QR Code Extension (generate and scan QR codes using the webcam)
Web Paint (ability to annotate in the browser- great when projecting)
Have a favorite Chrome extension? Please share!
Adding video to Google Slides from Google Drive
Google released the ability to embed videos in Google Slides that are available from Google Drive!
Watch the short video below to see how this can be done!
