Mrs. Stewart's Classroom News
August 16, 2017
Welcome Back!
I hope your child is as excited as me to get back to school this year:) Fourth grade will be very busy as there is lots of learning content to cover. Below I have listed the upcoming learning objectives for the first few weeks of school. If you ever have questions or concerns about our class this year, feel free to email me at stewarts@fortmillschools.org.
We are a "Nut Free" Classroom!
We have several students with peanut and tree nut allergies in our classroom this year. We want to ensure their health and safety so we ask parents to only send approved snacks from the list I am sending home today. Students are allowed to bring a snack each day, but must adhere to the approved list. Birthday celebrations can be a bit tricky too, so if you would like to bring treats for your child's birthday, be sure to email me and let me know what you would like to bring.
Upcoming Learning Objectives
Math - Multiplication tables review and quizzes; Reading and writing numbers in standard form, expanded form, and written form; Understanding numbers through the millions period.
Writing - Composing realistic narrative stories; Writing in complete sentences; Nouns and verbs review
Reading - Learning to read independently; Beginning of the year reading assessments
Social Studies - How the first Americans traveled here (Land Bridge Theory); The customs and traditions of the Eastern Woodland, Northeast, Plain, Southwest, Great Basin, and Northwestern Indian tribes
Student Transportation
It is imperative that I know how your child goes home tomorrow. Please check with the Fort Mill Schools' Transportation Department if you are unsure what bus your child will ride home tomorrow. If your child is a car rider for the first few days, and a bus rider the remainder of the year, I need that information also. Please contact Mrs. D in the front office (803-835-0150) if you have a transportation change for your child. You can also send me an email.
