Principal's Message

National Teacher Appreciation Week

This week we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week! The National Education Association describes National Teacher Appreciation Day as "a day for honoring teachers and recognizing the lasting contributions they make to the lives of children." I say to each of you, there are not words to describe how you have touched the lives of our students in a positive way. Your work will last forever. Thank you for all you do for students.

Also, this week we celebrate Cinco de Mayo! And during your classes this week take some time to reflect on the meaning and recognition of this special day.

Take time during your PLC meetings this week to develop summer reading list, activities and content preparation packets for next year. We want to provide students with summer materials when they leave the last day of school. So take time now to begin getting those materials ready and approved by your CIC.

On Wednesday we will have the final STAAR testing session for this year, Grade 8 Algebra I. As with the previous testing we will be on an accelerated schedule in the afternoon. So make certain you are prepared for the abbreviated class periods.

Finally, we have several special treats planned for you this week in recognition of National Teacher Appreciation Day. Sincerely, thank you for your commitment to our students, "You Are Appreciated!"

Make it a GREAT week!
