#HEinfluencer Spotlight - 4th grade, Mr. Mahoney's class
Students in Mr. Mahoney's class were 'on point' during math instruction this week! Students learned about partial products and how to solve these equations. Mr. Mahoney's students listened during instruction and had a 0 voice when others were talking. They also worked well with their partners and were able to explain their responses to the group in detail. Mr. Mahoney's class was 'in the zone' and focused on the tasks at hand! Congratulations to Mr. Mahoney's class for being our #HEinfluencer Spotlight class of the week!! I am so proud of you!
Heritage Building Basics - Problem Solving Team (PST)
PST is a collaborative process used by the district to discuss students of concern, academically or behaviorally. Through the PST process, teachers and parents provide background into student strengths and difficulties. Collaborative conversations are held where common grade teachers and specialists brainstorm interventions and an action plan for improvement. Classroom teachers document regular intervention results and return to discuss growth and student’s response to intervention.
The goal of PST is to engage in collaborative conversations with a group of professionals regarding specific student progress. Discussing many possible interventions, choosing a targeted strategy based on need, and regularly checking in to discuss progress and growth serves to support the classroom teacher and keep a direct focus on student learning.
Educational Guidance for Elementary Closure - COVID19
- If one (1) confirmed case of COVID-19 has occurred in a classroom, all students and staff in the class will be required to wear a mask, while indoors, for 14 calendar days following the last unmasked exposure.
- Masking will continue to be required if a second case is identified in the same classroom. If additional cases are identified within the masked classroom, BPS will work with DCHD to determine if a classroom closure is necessary.
- If two (2) or more classrooms in a school are closed within a 14-day period, ALL students and staff in the building will be required to wear a mask at all times while inside the school building for 28 calendar days (two incubation periods) following the second classroom closure.
Beginning with positive cases identified on or after August 31, a classroom-based mask requirement will take effect on the following school day for the entire 14-day period. You will be notified by your child’s principal regarding the final day of your student’s mask requirement. This notification is done via email which will have a letter attached. If a second case occurs within 14 days of the first case, the masking period may be extended up to an additional 14 days. If your child arrives at school without a mask, one will be provided for him/her.
Thank you for your assistance in keeping our classrooms open for our students.

Bus Passes - Lost bus passes cost $25 to replace. Please email or call the office to order a replacement bus pass if needed.
