A Note From the Principal
Dear Woodholme families,
As the days grow shorter and the trees start to change color, we are reminded that the school year is already a quarter of the way completed! The month of November is a busy month for schools and an important time for parents to get involved!
The first event, Family Learning Night, is this Tuesday evening, November 1st from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. This year's format has changed in order to show parents a snapshot of some learning that goes on in the classroom each day. During this Open House style event, students will help present and facilitates the activities and games so you can observe them in action! Teachers have also prepared some take-home materials that parents can take with them and use to reinforce learning at home. We hope to see you there!
Report cards will be sent home on November 10th for grades 1-5, and the following day is set aside as a day for parents to conference with K-5 teachers to review student progress. Kindergarten progress reports will be given to parents on conference day.
For conference day, please make sure you arrange to meet with your child's teacher so you can hear how your child is learning and progressing and what you can do to help support your child's progress.
The following week of November 14-18 is American Education Week. The visitation schedule for the week is listed above in the newsletter and on the calendar attached. We hope you will join us so that you can see the wonderful learning that is taking place at Woodholme. This is also an excellent opportunity to sit back and observe your child in the classroom setting. We hope you can join us!
November is certainly a month of giving thanks and appreciating all we have. I'd like to personally thank the Woodholme teachers and staff for their hard work and dedication to our students. I'd also like to thank our parents, grandparents and family members who support our teachers and students. Together we can achieve more for all Woodholme students!
Sincerely,
Principal Young
