PBIS Focus
From your colleagues on the PBIS Team: We are creating focus activities that will help students earn Coyote Cash and build a positive school culture. By creating focus areas, we can Work as a Community to change how Coyote Cash is earned. This year, we will be focusing on one of our HOWL expectations per quarter!
Quarter 1
Have a Growth Mindset
For the first quarter, we are going to help students have a growth mindset by creating SMART goals that we can refer to at various points in the quarter. This PBIS focus area is designed to help us have an open dialogue with students about their goals and expectations for the school year. It will also help you to create a more personalized and direct approach to education! Students will create their SMART goals on their own time and will be able to turn them in to Ms. Hoch for Coyote Cash!
Please share how you recognize Having a Growth Mindset on the padlet provided.
Eat at Beef's on Thursday & Support Coyote Football!

All sophomores (and any freshman or junior who registers) will participate in the PSAT-National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test on Wednesday, 10/30. This is an extremely important exam for our students as it provides access to the National Merit Scholarship program and many other scholarship opportunities. In addition, the PSAT serves as a concordant score to the Algebra 1 EOC for any student that did not pass the FSA Algebra 1 EOC in the spring. Please encourage all of our Coyote testers to prepare and do their very best!
Freshmen or juniors that want to register may pay online through Rycor or should see Mrs. Larimore or Mr. Copeland in the Media Center. Cost is $23 ($5 for students who qualify for free-reduced lunch). Seniors do not participate in the PSAT.

Coyote Staff Spotlight
Katherine Strok- High School Band Director
Cypress Creek is my first full time education position, but I have had experience long-term substituting with elementary general music, middle school band, and high school band. Previously, I also worked with a developing high school band to lay ground work for their breakthrough into the Ohio competitive circuit.
In my spare time, I play video games with my husband and I enjoy watching different genres of movies. We are also avid hockey fans and love to travel to watch the sport. Fun fact--we got engaged during a Philadelphia Flyers game!
Jessica Lucas- High School ELA
Jessica Herzek- High School Criminal Justice

- withdrawn or isolated
- patterns of behavior inconsistent with school mission and motto
- failure to respond to interventions or consequences even after contact home
Feedback forms for each student reviewed will be shared with staff directly related to the student after review.
