Interim Parent-Teacher Conferences Wednesday 9/14

We are already halfway through our 1st quarter, which means it's time for our Interim Parent-Teacher Conferences! Interim conferences take place each quarter so you can see how your child is progressing. Conferences will take place next Wednesday, September 14 on Zoom. Please use the links below to sign up for a time to meet with your child’s teacher. You may also call the school office to schedule your conference, if that is more convenient for you. We will send the Zoom links for conferences next week.

Virtual Learning Day Wednesday 9/14

Wednesday, September 14 will be an Asynchronous Virtual Learning day due to conferences. Students will remain home and work on their assignments. They will be expected to work for the majority of the school day. There are no scheduled Zoom classes, but teachers will be available on Zoom in the morning (8:00 AM-12:00 PM) for any assistance students may need. We will send out more directions next week for how to access assignments, log in, etc.

Hot Lunch Update

It looks like we will have to wait a few more weeks for our hot lunch program to begin, as there are still a few more details to work out. The staff is working diligently to ensure our menu is all set and ready to go. Please stay tuned for the information and look forward to delicious vegetarian meal offerings coming soon! Thank you so much for your patience!

Coding Club Update

We are excited to start our coding club at the end of the month. Please continue to check your emails for the latest updates and information. There are still a few more spots left, if you haven't signed up yet, please do it soon. Coding, the language of computers, will be taught to students in a very interesting and simplified manner through different projects and games! This club will be open to students in 4th-8th grade. They will stay after school on Thursdays until 4:30, under EJA staff supervision. If you are interested in your student joining, please sign up using the form below.

Outdoor School

Thanks so much for turning in the forms. The conference has informed us that, if space is limited, priority will be given to those students who did not go last year. We will let you know if anything changes. The money ($150) is due on September 30th. You may pay in cash, check (make check out to the school) or cash app $Ejapay. (Please state that it is for Outdoor School)

Spelling Bee 2023

It's never too early to start preparing for the annual Spelling Bee. All students in 4th-8th grade are required to participate. This is a wonderful opportunity for them to broaden their vocabulary and spelling skills. Students have already received the study lists, and there is also a copy included below. Our school Spelling Bee is scheduled to take place on April 5th, and the Conference Finals is scheduled for April 30th.

Dress Down Fridays

Reminder: We are allowing an optional dress down day on Fridays! If students would like to take a break from their regular uniforms, they can pay $1 and support the 8th grade class. Please follow our dress code for dress down days. Students who do not bring $1 or are inappropriately dressed will be asked to change.

Important Dress Down Reminders

  • Students must wear shirts with sleeves that cover the midriff, close-toed shoes, and shorts and skirts must reach the knee. No jeggings, leggings, or tight-fitting pants.
