Early Childhood Community Classroom

November 2012

Fall Fun

After having a tractor-load of fun at the farm last month, we finished up October with learning about fall and, of course, Halloween. We taste-tested apples and wrote about our favorite one (green, yellow, or red). We worked on cutting skills and made fall trees. We even made individualized scarecrows with our first glyph. Thanks, Miss Julie, for bringing us such a great Kindergarten activity!

Volunteer Thanks!

Picture Retake Day

Wednesday, Nov. 14th 2012 at 8:30am

12451 Brooks School Road

Fishers, IN

If your child missed pictures earlier this year, here is your chance. Pictures will be taken during both, the morning and the afternoon classes. If your child does not typically attend on this day, he/she may come at the beginning of his/her class, so he/she may be included in the retakes.

We would like to welcome our new friends, Josie and Zane. Josie joined our morning class just before fall break; Zane will be joining our morning class this week. We are happy to have them!

Changing Weather, Changing Clothes

Please take a look at the weather each day, especially as our weather is getting colder. We go outside each day, so your child should be dressed appropriately. Please be sure they have coats, mittens/gloves, hats, boots, etc., as needed.

Also, you may want to send in a more seasonal set of spare clothes, as many of the children still have shorts to change into. Thanks for your help with this.

Fabulous Flubber and Mighty Measurement

Formerly Known as the Thanksgiving Feast :)

Every year, in our class, we spend time talking about all the things for which we are thankful. I am always thankful for not only the children in our classes, but for their wonderful families, as well. Our Thanksgiving Feast has always been a day to celebrate that. It has been one of my favorite activities to host over the years, as I love having all of our families come together for a day of thanks.

For those of you who were with us last year, I'm sure you remember having turkey with all the fixins, for our Thanksgiving Feast. This year, we are looking at celebrating all for which we are thankful, in a different way. Our focus will be less on food and more on activities. We are finalizing details and will be sending them to you soon. Be on the lookout.
