We are seeing an increase in students bringing blankets to school. We cannot allow blankets to be worn in the classroom. If a student is in need of a jacket or a coat, please have them see their guidance counselor, Mrs. Truex, or Mrs. Clinger.

• Pre-sale tickets are $5 for students. $10 for adults.
• Tickets at the door will be $10 for everyone.

We will be running a two-hour delay schedule on the days marked by bold print. Students scheduled to take an exam on a given date will need to arrive at school at their normal time in order to make the first-period bell at 7:40 am. Students who are not scheduled to take an exam should arrive at school in time to start their day at 9:40.

Mount Vernon buses transport students for the entire district, not just high school students, therefore buses will operate on a regular school day schedule. Dropping off a little after 7:00 am and picking up after the last bell at 2:35 pm. If a student depends on a school bus to arrive at school in the morning, they will arrive at the normal time and will report to a designated area on days they are not scheduled to test.

There will be no tickets necessary.

This year students will not be permitted to decorate their graduation caps. This was something that was briefly allowed during COVID years, but we are going back to a more traditional look. The only tassels and cords that will be allowed during the MVHS graduation ceremony are those distributed by MVHS or KCCC. Also, students should not wear heels during the ceremony.

Make sure you get your Senior Pictures to Mr. Caldwell by sending a photo meeting the requirements below. Send photos to dcaldwell@mvcsd.us

Senior photos are due after Spring Break: April 14, 2023

Please conform to the following requirements for senior photos

• Photo should be of your head and shoulders only

• High quality photos (high pixel count)

• The subject of the photo should be the senior

• Color photo (no black and white)

• School appropriate

• Use a jpeg. Format for photos. All photos must be in a digital format. No hard copies will be accepted.

You also have the opportunity to have a Forum Book staff member take your Senior Photo. The photographer will take multiple photos, so you can choose the best one! The cost of this service is $25. If interested, please contact Mr. Caldwell to schedule an appointment.

Unfortunately, due to a significant increase in price on our previously used site prom's location and date had to be adjusted. Prom will now take place on Saturday, May 13 from 8:00-11:00pm. The location will be the Rusty River Barn which is located in Utica.
