March 6 - 10 (School Days 120-124)
Gratitude from Joy
- Spring Creek Night was a great success especially with the ROLL throwers. Kids love it, my friends. Thanks!!
- Also, the annual Movie Night was a great family event. It really makes a difference when kiddos and parents see you at these kinds of events.
I really believe our campus is working hard to make changes in students that need change. I'm not just talking about change in academic achievement. I am talking about those who are working to make changes in students' behavior and students' emotional well-being. The quiet conversations between student and teacher away from classmates make a difference with students. Thanks.
I am extremely appreciative of the work you have done to think beyond your comfort zone and dream about our school this week. Many have provided some real suggestions to adjust and expand our Academy of the Arts this week. I realize you took precious time away from something else to provide input in our future. Dedication really shows when you take that time when you don't think you have it to make a difference. THANKS SO MUCH. You are making a difference!
I know that everyone is going to miss Kristina and I know many will stay in touch with her. Thank you for helping make her transition to this next stage in her career a smooth one. Now, I want to say how thankful I am for Amanda who will be stepping into the PEIMS position this week. I know she will do an excellent job. I know that each of you will help her transition as well.
Finally, I want to say how much I appreciate your preparation for the upcoming Open House. Helen is doing an amazing job with the Fine Arts display preparation. I am seeing well organized and topnotch work in the hallways. I was struck by the amazing photographs our students produced under the direction of the Happy. The Matisse inspired works displayed by 3rd graders are awesome. The hallways are really shaping up. This will be our time to shine - students and teachers alike. Let's make sure that parents and the public that join us see the things our students are learning in the way of Academics and in the way of the Arts. It's going to be good.
