WP WEEKLY BULLETIN
April 21st, 2023
A Note from Ms. Gons
We had another great week at Warren Point!
SNOW DAYS- Since we did not use any snow days this year, we will have an extended Memorial Day break. School will be closed on Friday 5/26, Monday 5/29, Tuesday 5/30 and Wednesday 5/31. If for some reason we do have a to use a day before then school will be in session.
Bring your Child to Work Day: If you plan on bringing your child to work with you on 4/27, please hand in the permission slip by Wednesday 4/26. Slips went home last week, but you can also print the attached slip below.
Parent Participation in G&T Ad Hoc Committee: The Fair Lawn School District seeks committed parents to serve on our Gifted & Talented Services Ad Hoc Committee. This ad hoc committee will aid the district in developing policies and procedures that comply with the new Strengthening Gifted & Talented Education Act (SGTEA). Participants support research-driven, evidence-based improvements to our gifted and talented services continuum. Committee members will also receive training on gifted and talented education.
Please complete the survey—using the link below—if you are interested in participating.

Second & Fourth Grade CogAT information: In the coming weeks, the CogAT Screener will be administered to Second and Fourth Grade students. If your child is in Second or Fourth Grade and already took the CogAT Screener in the Fall of 2022 because they were new to the Fair Lawn School District, they will not retake the assessment. The CogAT Screener consists of verbal/picture analogies, number analogies, and figure matrices. Data gathered from this assessment will enable us to plan effective programs for our students and make decisions regarding academically talented programs.
