Friendly and Helpful (February 15, 2014)
Girl Scouts emphasizes “Be a Friend First” to all Girl Scouts, but what does this really mean? In this workshop, girls learn about emotional intelligence and empathy through the power of theatre. Girls demonstrate what it is to be a good friend by acting out scenes and discussing constructive ways to resolve issues within a friendship. Girls brainstorm ways that they can help not only their friends, but also teachers, family members and their whole community through learning how to empathize with others.
Considerate and Caring (Mar. 15, 2014)
Girls practice handling interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. Girls will use their creativity to craft an art project that demonstrates their caring qualities.
