Expert Advice For Parents

2020 has been a challenging year in many respects - especially for parents! Westside's award-winning School Psychologist Mary McPadden recently participated in a panel hosted by KMTV's Jennifer Griswold called Parenting In The Pandemic. This special presentation offers expert advice on how to best support your children - and what we can learn from them! - as we continue to navigate this school year. CLICK HERE to watch!

Resources Available For Westside Families In Need

THANK YOU to Emily Nitcher with the Omaha World Herald for sharing word of the Westside Family Resource Center earlier this week. This amazing facility, made possible thanks to the Konigsberg Family, the Westside Foundation, our district social workers, our Westside Community Council volunteers, and countless donors throughout our community, offers clothing and food to any Westside student or family in need at no charge. CLICK HERE to read the story!

IF YOU'D LIKE TO HELP

You can drop off donations at Westgate Elementary at 7802 Hascall St. Please let front desk staff know your donation is for the Westside Family Resource Center. Cash donations and gift cards are greatly appreciated, allowing our families to buy new items including underwear, personal hygiene products, and perishable foods like milk and meat.

IF YOU NEED HELP

We are happy to schedule a private visit for you and your family to 'shop' at our Family Resource Center. Please view the flyer below and contact your school social worker, or reach out to your child's principal for more information.

CONGRATULATIONS to the 28 Westside students who have qualified to compete in the District Spelling Bee January 13! Each of these outstanding students worked hard to win the competition at each of their schools through written tests - now they will compete virtually with the chance to represent Westside at the Omaha World Herald Midwest Spelling Bee in March! GOOD LUCK, AND CONGRATULATIONS!
