It’s simple, it’s convenient and there are no door-to-door sales!

Families are asked to just make a donation!

For $10 or more your student will earn a No Uniform Day. For every $25 raised, his/her name will be entered for a drawing for a 50” Sharp Roku Smart HDTV with a Netflix gift card (and they get no uniform.)

Download the form at the link below and have your student drop it by the office by October 5th.

Thank you for your support!

Staff Spotlight

Ms. Whitefield

Grade and Classes you Teach: 8th grade Science and Health

How long have you been teaching at SJ? This is my 3rd year at SJ.

What are your hobbies?

I have loved camping for quite a few years, but this summer I added skydiving to my list of hobbies.

2. What is your favorite thing about being a teacher?

I love seeing those moments when the students get excited because, for the first time, they understood something. They see that education and knowledge is fun and can also change their life. I feel like we are changing lives as teachers, and when that is a positive change, there is no greater feeling in the world!

Mrs. Lander

Grade and Classes you Teach: 7th & 8th Intro to Speech and Drama and 8th grade advanced drama

How long have you been teaching at SJ? This is my 5th year

1. What are you passionate about? I am not passionate about Theatre in the sense that I live and breathe it, but I am passionate about instilling a love and appreciation of Theatre in my students. I hope that when they leave me, they have a better understanding of what it takes to produce a live performance. Putting on a play is not play, it takes hard work and commitment.

2. Where is your favorite place in the world and why? Disney World. I know it is very commercialized, but both times my family has gone, it has truly been magical. Call it dumb luck, call it being blessed, we just had incredible things happen there. My favorite was the first time we visited. My son Daniel was 5. We moved away from the main crowd over to an isolated spot near one of the buildings. We were the only ones there and low and behold, it was where the character Stitch did his meet and greet. Stitch came up and hugged Daniel and played with him, until other guests saw him. What an incredible thing for a 5 year old. He got to play with Stitch!

Mrs. Lander is seeking a Pinterest expert to help her set up some Boards for drama students. Please email her at jodi.lander@midlandisd.net if you can help!
