Newsletter Week 2 2022
Nau mai, haere mai ki Pounamu.
Well we had an interesting start to the week with the water being cut off on Tuesday by contractors fixing the leak on the road. Thank you for collecting your children so quickly, it made life much easier for our team.
Thank you to those who have been collecting stones. Please keep bringing those in. We are also keen to have any of your 'junk' such as paper rolls, good boxes, ribbons, wool, any fabric scraps, interesting bits and pieces, ice cream containers.
We are getting into our weekly routine and students are starting to have literacy and math lessons. Please expect readers to start coming home in week 3. Some children will have chapter books to read, others shorter readers.
We are also looking for board games and jigsaw puzzles. If you have any you no longer want we are happy to have them.
Thanks for all your support,
Enjoy the weather!!
RED Traffic Light Setting.
Here are a few reminders to about coming to school in the RED traffic Light setting. We are looking forward to seeing our lovely tamariki!
- We ask parents to say goodbye to children at the gate. Teachers will be at the gate to welcome students. No entry before 8:30am and please use the main Beazley Road entrance, as the shared kindy pathway is closed for the time being.
- Other arrangements are available in limited circumstances, please contact your child's teacher for more information - eg new enrolments.
- Bring a water bottle every day. Drinking fountains are open but everyone is encouraged to drink from their own bottle.
Meet the Teachers!
We are also offering one on one zoom calls or phone calls with us. These will be held on the 15th and 16th for Rooms 2,3 and 5 and on the 16th and 17th for Room 4.
Each meeting or phone call will be approximately 10 minutes long. You will be sent information regarding booking these meetings this week.
We look forward to catching up with you and getting to know you more.
Goodtime Music Academy starts up again on Monday the 14th of February.
They have strategies in place to teach music under the Red Traffic Light setting.
Instructors are fully vaccinated and wear masks when teaching. The bus is well ventilated and equipment is wiped down after use.
