Dear Parents, Students, and Families,
We have had a positive start to the school year. BRCOT received a donation recently for our EMT program- an ambulance donated by Sugarloaf Ambulance and Vehicle Rescue. This is a significant asset for our program and will allow our students to train in simulated emergency situations.
I want to thank all the parents that participated in our Open House last week and if you couldn't make it, please don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions. Prior to our students arriving, our staff spent time preparing for the year. One of BRCOT's hallmark training mandates is preparing students to learn and demonstrate effective employability skills, also known as soft skills. Staff participated in the discussion and planning to best teach these skills to our young adults as we prepare them for viable careers.
It is our hope moving forward that the BRCOT does not have to move to synchronous remote learning, and if we do, that it is for temporary short periods of time. Our staff is prepared to transition to remote learning if and when it is needed. Our teachers are using Google Classroom and Google Meets as the avenue for curriculum delivery. If a student has to quarantine, the student will access Google Classroom and can communicate with their instructor on a daily basis. Our delivery model is primarily experiential hands-on learning and remote instruction does not lend itself well to our curriculum delivery system.
UPCOMING DATES to be AWARE of:
September 15th: Early Release Day: Students are expected to attend BRCOT. Busses will run an abbreviated schedule. The schedule is posted in your child's Google Classroom and their instructor will review it with them prior to the 15th.
October 8th- Professional development day for teachers- No School for students.
October 11th- Indigenous People Holiday - No School
October 12th- Return to school
Lastly, if your son or daughter is having to access Infinite Campus: please share the following steps:
- Click here, or give students this Link https://infinitecampus.biddefordschools.me/campus/portal/biddeford.jsp
- Click on Campus Student
- Student Username is Student Number, not Personal ID or State ID number. The Student ID Number is usually found under their birth date. It has 5 numbers
- Password is First name initial, Last name initial, Date of Birth. For example, if a student was born on September 9, 2004, they enter ts090904
If this fails, please contact Jeani Reagan at jreagan@biddefordschools.me or icportal@biddefordschools.me

Pooled Testing Consent
Dear COT Parents and Guardians,
In an effort to help our school community better understand the benefits and process around pooled testing, our district nurses have put together Nursing News (linked here) which includes all the relevant information to make an informed decision. Individuals who participate in pooled testing are exempt from quarantine in the classroom, bus, sports, or other school-related activities should they be identified as a close contact.
Consents are required to be enrolled in pooled testing (One Form Per Child). Once consents and supplies are received, specific pools will be established by our nursing staff based on numbers per classroom/advisory and Pooled Testing will begin on October 4th.
Enter this Access Code specific to Biddeford Regional Center of Technology (COT): B8VTHG
Finally, enter your child’s information, and you’re done!
PLEASE NOTE: Pooled Testing consent is SEPARATE from the BinaxNOW Consent parents completed when registering. Parents may also contact the school directly if they require a printed form to be sent home. Thank you for safeguarding our school community.
Sincerely,
Krystal Taschereau, RN
School Nurse
