NEW! Message from the Principal
We need your support to help create the culture and conditions to empower world-class learners! You can help us create long-lasting memories and amazing experiences for our students by getting involved with groups that help support our students, parents, and staff. You may be wondering how organizations like the MVMS Foundation and PTSA support our work and how they are different. Please read below for a little insight into the types of programs and opportunities these two groups help support.
By contributing to the MVMS Foundation, you help fund STEM labs; technology such as iPads, 3D printers, and more; diverse libraries for classrooms; online programs that enhance student learning, and more. After more than a year of sitting in front of computer screens, our kids need opportunities to learn interactively and collaboratively through projects and inquiry. The Foundation's support is essential in affording us the ability to offer these types of activities, opportunities and experiences to our students. See below for more info on how you can get involved or donate by clicking here.
By joining PTSA, you will help support programs and opportunities that include activities such as 6th Grade Orientation, 7th Grade History Faire, and 8th Grade Promotion; the Kindness Challenge; presentations for parents that may cover topics such as internet safety, academic stress, mental health, etc. See how you can get involved by clicking here.
We hope you enjoy the long weekend, in celebration of America's Workers! Happy Labor Day!
Your Proud Principal,
Kellie Moore

We need help assisting and supervising students during our busy lunch periods. ATTENDANCE PROCEDURES
Off Campus Passes (Early Release)
Student safety is a major concern for us. Students must be signed out at the attendance desk before departing early. Students are not allowed to wait in front of the school to be picked up during school hours.
If your student needs to leave early from school, please send a note with your student. Notes should be given to the Attendance secretary in the attendance office and will help us to minimize interruptions to the classrooms. If you forgot to send a note you may call the Attendance Hotline @ 538-5692 to have an off campus pass sent to your student and we will do our best to honor your request in a timely manner.
When calling writing a note, please indicate:
- Your student's first and last name
- Their grade
- The time your student needs to leave school
- Whether or not your student will return that day
Please meet your child at the attendance desk to be signed out at the time of departure. Be prepared to show your identification when checking out your child.
If your student returns to school after being picked up early, please have him/her check back in at the Attendance desk before heading to class.
Clearing Absences
If your student is absent, please call the Attendance hotline @ (858) 538-5692 NO LATER than 10:00 a.m. each day your student is absent. A parent or legal guardian must make this call.
In the message, please state:
- Your student’s first and last name
- Their grade
- The date of the absence(s)
- The reason (if sick, please list symptoms)
- Your relationship to the student
- A phone number where you can be reached.
Students will be listed as truant if we do not receive a call or note from a parent/guardian.
