Technology

Language Arts
Students will be continuing to practice identifying the author's purpose in a text. Author's write with one of three main purposes in mind- to inform, to entertain, or to persuade. Ask your child what the author's purpose for their self selected texts might be. What evidence can you child use from the text to support their statement?
Math
Unit 3 (part 2): Multiplying Whole Numbers
Unit Targets:
- use arrays and multiply two digit numbers by two digit numbers
- use arrays and multiply by multiples of 10
- understand perfect squares as numbers and represent them
If your child is struggling with multiplication fact fluency, please practice this at home.
Unit 3 part 2 test will be Tuesday, October 31.
Science
We start with science from next week. Students are going to understand and communicate the importance of physical science. They will measure, compare, and contrast physical properties of matter, including size, mass, volume, states, temperature, magnetism, and the ability to sink or float.
Vocabulary to focus on : graduated cylinder, volume, capacity

- We would like to encourage your child to bring their electronic device. Electronic devices are being used in music, art, and guidance as well as the content area classes.
- SPARKLE Store will open tomorrow morning! Sparkles are an incentive that we give to our students throughout the day. These sparkles may be used on Fridays to buy privileges in the Sparkle Store. The Sparkle Store is open from 7:30-7:45 a.m. You will find a link below for what your students may buy with their sparkles.
