Big picture

A Note from Mr. Morcone (Please note the links can be clicked on the electronic versions of this newsletter):

Hello Parents and Guardians:

We are honoring our Students of the Month for December. We are proud of all of our students that are recognized for their achievements and positive behavior. Again, students decreased office referrals for December compared to last year!

Here is our link to our new PBIS Tab on the MJT Website: Thank you, Mrs. Evans.

Our next round of i-Ready computer-based assessments will be administered between January 18-February 12.

My door is always open.

Pass this on to our future MJT UPK students! They can have a story read to them by an MJT Faculty or Staff member. Click below or call the office to sign-up and for details.

Important Topics:

Attendance Reminder:

  • If your child is absent and they are able to log into the teacher's Google Classroom for the core subject areas, they are eligible to receive attendance credit for the day. Please make arrangements with the classroom homeroom teacher.

Remote Learners:

  • Continue to have your child participate in PE, Art and Music activities that are located in the Google Classrooms. These teachers will continue to check-in with you.

As we are back in action at school: Important Reminders from MJT Nurse Miss Talham

As we are in the new year, we want to have as limited interruptions into the learning process as possible. Please review with our child(ren):

Please Return Chromebooks and Chargers to School, IF you have not done so:

Chromebooks are utilized for instruction during the school day. If you have not had your child return these items to school at this point, please do so as it may interrupt the enhancement of their learning in school.

General Announcements:

Movement/Sensory Room...NOW AVAILABLE: With the dedication from our counseling team and OT, we have created a room for students to go to for a movement break. This room is filled with sensory activities that can stimulate the brain and increase focus during the day.

Golden Tickets: If your child rides a bus to school, it is most important to have your child with the ticket in hand as they arrive at school if they have been screened at home. This makes the arrival process go smoothly at the bus port.

UPDATE: Emergency Activity Lessons/packet GRADES UPK-2: In the event of a brief (24-48 hour) closure, an emergency hard copy packet was sent home with your child at the start of the school year with an attached letter explaining this process. These activities arranged by grade level are now also posted on our MJT Webpage for easy access. These activities are only for a 24-48 hour closure. After this duration, we will activate our Chromebook deployment and each child will receive their Closure Class Schedule from their teacher for full online/remote learning. Faculty and Staff will be checking in with you and your child during this time.

GRADE 3: In the event of a brief (24-48 hour) closure, grade 3 will use the full remote schedule that was sent to families by their respective teachers. This is due to students traveling with Chromebooks each day.
