Duveneck Connections
Home of the Dragons
Dear Duveneck Families,
I continue to be impressed with how our Duveneck teachers have transitioned to providing thoughtful distance learning opportunities for our students. The weekly plans, recorded lessons, whole class and small group meetings are quite impressive! Thank you for making sure your child attends their small group and whole class Zoom meetings on time. From a social emotional perspective, these scheduled opportunities are very important so that our students stay connected to one another and to our staff during this shelter in place/school closure period of time. It is also very important for your student to be present, to participate and to complete their work to the best of their ability.
There has been quite a bit of information sent home from the District and school site during the past 5 weeks. We know it can be overwhelming. Our hope is that your family has now settled in and developed some positive routines that are working well. As many of you might know, our Superintendent, Dr. Austin, is holding a weekly webinar each Monday at 5:30 PM to share, discuss, and address topics the District is navigating during this time. It is an excellent source of information that can be viewed live, but the recording will always be available to watch at your convenience. Here is the link from this past Monday:

Beginning Monday, April 20, PAUSD will begin a live webinar series for anyone interested in hearing more detail about numerous aspects of the closure and submitting questions and / or comments. The webinars, called Backstage with the Superintendent, will run live each Monday during the closure at 5:30 p.m. We have two options for those who wish to participate.
- If you would like to view the webinar live and do not want to submit questions or comments, we would suggest viewing on YouTube Live option.
View on YouTube - For those who would like the option of submitting questions and comments through the Q&A feature, we would suggest the Zoom option.
Join via Zoom
Both options will go live promptly at 5:30 p.m. We anticipate a short delay for our YouTube viewers of under one minute. There is no registration requirement for either option.
Finally, our video of the week features our wonderful Librarian, Doree Tschudy, reading one of her favorite books to all of you - enjoy!
Please continue to take good care of yourselves and know that we miss you beyond words.
Warm Wishes,
Leslie Crane
Principal
