Important Announcements/Dates

Welcome to Room 326! We are ready for an exciting week in First Grade.

Class Notes/Reminders:

Box Tops-You can turn these in by sheets of 50. Be sure to include your child’s name and teacher’s name. You can also send them in a baggie. Write the total number on the bag. Thanks!

**Students receive a free slice of pizza and drink on Pizza Day if they turn in at least 50 box tops.

September 15th -Interim Reports issued

September 17th -Guidance

September 30th -Reading Log due

Students will read realistic fiction about the seasons. We will identify rhyming words in the story.

Students will identify verbs: action words. They should use these in writing.

Our writing focus is narrative writing.

Spelling List for this week: cap, sad, bat, tap, rat, sat, had, fat, mad, lap

**Students will also be tested to see if they can apply skills to new words.


Students will continue to use objects to add numbers. They will find missing parts of addition sentences, identify true/false math statements, and create math problems from pictures.

Science/Social Studies

In science, students are learning about the features and patterns of the earth/moon/sun. Students will learn and identify the phases of the moon.
