GOALS FOR THE WEEK
WEEKLY WORDS OF WISDOM
TRY SOMETHING NEW
If you and your family have ever watched a magician or an illusionist, you may have had that feeling of awe and amazement. To us, that wonder and joy is MAGIC. MAKING MAGIC is not limited to magicians. You and your family can MAKE MAGIC, too. What fills you with wonder, awe, and joy? What puts your IMAGINATION into overdrive and gets you excited? What makes you pause and marvel? This week, we would like you and your family to use your IMAGINATION to create experiences that bring joy to yourself and the people around you. We’ll discover and connect to the things that bring a special dose of MAGIC into our lives.
Sometimes, it seems like our days roll right into one another. One day is pretty similar to the next. This is where our IMAGINATION and powers of MAGIC can break up the monotony, inject some energy and infuse some wonder and joy. Maybe to you, MAGIC is sitting at the park on a crisp autumn day watching the clouds or the sun set into the horizon. Maybe to you, MAGIC is listening to the songbirds in your yard or a family member practice a new song. Maybe to you, MAGIC is volunteering to read to senior citizens at the community center. Maybe to you, MAGIC is having the whole family sit at the dinner table enjoying each other. This week, let’s actively bring joy, delight, and happiness to our day. Let’s pause and notice the things that fill us with of wonder and awe. Let’s MAKE MAGIC.
FAMILY FOCUS
MAKE MAGIC
As life gets stressful, it can be easy to take a "woe is me" attitude and assume that good things only happen to other people. Sometimes, we have to be willing to make our own breaks. Instead of projecting negative thoughts or outcomes, we can use the power of imagination to think about what it looks like when good things happen to us. Sometimes, we have to make our own magic! This week, take some time as a family to talk about how we can improve outcomes through the power of positive thoughts and changed behavior. Together, we can use our imagination and make magic!
